360 Elite or PS3?

HDTV is pretty much a must if you want to get the most out of the games for the 360, especially for games like Dead Rising, i played it without one and goddamn, i could barely read the text.

Yah I played it on SD once and it's pretty bad but I was leaning more on blu ray for the HDTV part. If you buy a 360 and have SD you have a console that won't play games as well as it could. If you buy a PS3 and only have SD then you have the same problem, plus a blu ray player which will be pointless, sense it's still in SD (Standard definition). It makes more sense to buy a 360 if all you have is a SDTV.

No seriously, maybe you thought it was average, but the Halo franchise has been hailed as the new "Star Wars" phenomenon. It's currently Xbox's best selling game, verified by the Guiness Book of World Records. That's gotta say something that the Halo series isn't your average game.

Honestly it could turn into a religion for all I care and all that would do is further prove that if the hype is big enough people will be mesmerised by a game that does nothing unique and is a average FPS that has a simple story and guns that look like they were made by a toy company. Halo truly is amazing that such a average game can sell more then diamonds at 5$ a pound.

While I don't want this to turn into why Halo is overrated discussion, it is one of the primary reasons to get Xbox 360, and Halo 3's online multiplayer is one of the best out there, setting aside gameplay and plot. I think people find Halo to be awesome is due to the plot and plot premise, since you're fighting to save humanity against a hostile alien race. Not very original, but Bungie took an used idea and made it better, made it seem more realistic in my opinion. It isn't your average game no matter how you look at it, even by the critics standards they found nothing major to criticize. (Except with the first Halo... very repetitive gameplay.) While I don't think it's the best game in the world, (Starcraft was my favorite game till Halo, now Left 4 Dead is) it is good and has its great elements. You have to wonder why other FPS games have not enjoyed such a level of success compared to Halo.

Also I fail to see how just about anything in Halo could be described as realist. Guns are all unreal. Physics unreal. Aliens that know perfect english unreal etc etc.

EDIT : I'm done with arguing this. I apparently didn't get the same experience that 99% of the people who played Halo did so either I got a wrong copy or theirs alot of people that are easily entertained by a shallow plot and average gameplay. Theres no arguing Halo is the best selling series of all time. Still there are games that are way better then Halo theres no arguing that fact that didn't do half as well. So basically you can define the series as a fluke. It lucked out if you will.

Depends on what you want. PS3 has a Blue Ray player that can up-convert.

360Elite has it's larger game library, but feeble system. Though Microsoft makes up by that by having a 3 year RRoD Warrenty.

Someone told me Final Fantasy isn't going to be on the PS3 too, that 360 is going to have it.

PS3 because it pwns the 360...cause it looks better! :)
