Ar no Surge

I guess I'll do the honors of making this thread since I doubt anyone else will. It's true that I usually make threads for niche JRPGs that will likely never be localized ([size=10]at least in the near future[/h]) but I feel that this one may actually have a chance.

Anyways, read up on the information we have so far. I've never played any Ar Tonelico games before but this looks really interesting to me. I haven't played Ciel no Surge either due to it not being translated.

I'm definitely liking the character designs so far. Ion seems like she could be grade-A waifu material and I'm not even into the whole "waifu" thing.

Ar Tonelico 3 is such an enjoyable game and it was my first.
Not sure how/where Ar no Surge fits in the series but it seems to share similarities with the Ar Tonelico 1 combat system.

I think its more similar to ar tonelico 2 to be exact, among the series I like ar tonelico 2 combat system the most, cant wait for this to come out... ^.^

AH FUCK YES, THIS IS WHAT I NEED, EVERYONE PLAY AR TONELICO.

Are the Ar Tonelico games story related or can you start anywhere?

They are partially related but don't really have any connection with the main plot just some character background and origin, that's how it is for ar tonelico 1-3. So don't worry you can play this even you didin't play the previous ar tonelico series

Also, I got Ar tonelico III in the mail the other day. I just went and looked up the Japanese title.... why did NISA remove the "III" part? What the hell is "Qoga" supposed to mean?

Sometimes I should not bitch about NISA. Now is such a time.

On this game: considering that Ar Tonelico 3 disappointed me, and this one looking to go in its direction, I won't be excited. But I'm willing to give it a chance so if I get it cheap (bonus points if it's not fucking goddamn NISA doing the localization) then why not?

Ion looks a lot like Aurica smh.

I'll ask my friend xD he was on the QC team for that game, though you could just ask Mibu, inb4 Mibu puts up a wall of text for the XXth time explaining the many errors NISA has dealt to the Tonelico series xD.

Getting back on topic, I will most likely get this regardless of who ever localizes it. I can find out all the "correct/proper" translations online while I am playing it so its just a matter of being able to understand the story and conversations without looking it up ever other scene due to language barrier.

Can't wait to hear the soundtrack, they were absolutely immense in the previous episodes.

wow.. the trailer looks great... hope it does not go with the multiple personality like ar tonelico 3... it just not to my taste... + rep..

I watched the trailer. Was acceptable. And I watched the gameplay vid. Well, I ain't buying this.

I could clearly see the Ar Tonelico-ness of it, but they focused majorly on the sides of Ar Tonelico that I thought it could be so much better without. Smh. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
