Completely worth the $65.84 I payed for the game. If I bought the game I am sure I'd feel the same as you, but alas I must wait till I can borrow my friends PS3, or buy one(which won't happen unless I get a 2nd job).
I am happy to hear people saying they're liking this game.

Not liking it. Im loving the game as it stands.
Pisses me off though, I have Ar Tonelico 2 and Ar Tonelico 3 in their limited/special editions. Whilst I dont have the 1st one at all.

Hhhng coming out 4 days from now here in France.
Finally a game I think I can have fun with on the ps3. Haven't touched my home console since demons' souls a couple of months ago. Gotta wipe off all the dust that gathered on top of it.

Nevertheless, AT3 is an awesome game!

Been thinking of picking it up, but 2 kind of turned me off. The story and gameplay was pretty solid, but the lack of VAs and poor(?) graphics made me quit. Plus, Vanguards different attacks were confusing as hell.
Is this stuff 'fixed'?

Ar tonelico 2 was messed up very badly by NISA. Removing over half the original voice, dummy data etc so I just get the undub version. About the graphics... I dunno. Sure it's nothing impressive but it isn't poor either for someone who just wants an awesome story. The different attacks isn't as confusing as it seems actually. It's very easy to understand if you play with Sync Chain for a while.
So yeah, I don't see your prob with it. Aside from the VA ofc.
Also, from what I've heard RAH and purge in At3 is more complex. There's a hard mode too! <333

So, the VA is fixed? Because I've heard from others that there's even less English VA than AT2... I could use the Japanese voices, but I prefer English, if it's an option.

Still waiting for my usual store to supply this game. Man this is irritating.

Idk. Listening to english VA was never an option to me anyway. Jap >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Eng.

I played through this game in Japanese, and was fairly impressed. One of the great things about this game is the fact that the music in battle actually changes with the flow of the battle. The only thing that kind of turned me off was how the battle system seemed to be less fun after playing for a long time. I got bored of it around halfway through, but still pushed to the end.

I think it would've helped if they killed the enemy bar (the bar that turns from blue to red) which signals for incoming battles and just adopted the Tales gameplay where you see monsters running around and you have to clash with them to battle them. Then again, it's only a minor fault, what the Ar Tonelico series really shines in is it's story and lovable characters.

...I don't want to be a prick... but I lost interest in tis game when I saw how much sexual innuendo this game had...
...True, the first (and probably the second) game had sexual innuendos, but this one takes the cake... Please tell me there are options to remove the sexual innuendos in the fight scenes... I do not want to see Saki's melons bouncing whenever she changes her outfit...
...I don't want to be a prick again... but I find saki's pose (When she's changing her outfit) to be quite... lame... >_< this is too much a change from the first game... I loved the first one so much that I wanted to do the game all over again... I haven't played the second due to circumstances...

Spoiler:
Yes, there is an option in the settings menu to remove the "purge scenes". Of course this doesnt include the purge scenes that are required to run by the story line. If you think that has a sexual innuendo then wait for Soma's scene later with Aoto

...that doesn't sound good :(Well that depends, go play it and see for yourself if it will sound good. And I do mean sound since it really has something to do with the sound.

Just got the game today finally. My thoughts so far:
Everything looks good except for battle system.
For me it goes something like this:
Battle start>noob team members start getting their a$$es kicked> as soon as i heal them.....O sh*t my Rev is getting gang banged> Somehow manage to save her.....already 1 vanguard dead> O wait i can fight too!>Let's see i should do more damage if i get into rhythm>while i was trying to do some damage looking at rhythm gauge....time to jerk my controller! oh nwm my Rev is dead already>after all that i just give up.
Mostly happens on bosses though but still frustrating. They could have at least gave a better AI to uncontrolled vanguards.

Spoiler:
Yeah, I agree that the gameplay really needs some work. The rhythm thing worked for Ar Tonelico 2 because it was turn based, meaning your characters didn't have to dodge apocalyptic attacks because they can nullify everything if your reflexes are fast enough. In AT3 not only do you need to roam around the battlefield to dodge attacks and guard your reyvetail you also need to watch for the rhythm gauge or else your damage will suffer huge points.
I recommend going through phase one in easy mode just to get used to everything. Because phase 3 and 4 are in a whole different level of toughness.

I seem to have resolved the problem with some things in battle lol. I did't know that you can blow out enemies out of Rev's range without coming into the range yourself *i was trying to run to her aid first* And now i just need to stay further from my monitor to see every gauge *i have bad eyesight so i have to be close to see most of the gauges which makes me turn my head up and down alot with a big screen so, i sacrificed the ability to enjoy the visuals to be effective in battle*
