I dunno man, can never go wrong with Game Freak and Pokemon.
I'm not a huge fan of rpg games, so I would go with ones that are unique, like Enix or From Soft. I'm not too big a fan of Square Enix, other than The World Ends With You. Squaresoft and Enix were both awesome companies, but when they combined the quality of games seemed to be a little lower.

I wholly agree that Square rpg games before they merged with Enix were the more better ones compared to after. Most of the first and favorite titles when I first heavily got into them were from Square.
Not pointing out the obvious, but my second personal fave has to be Namco Bandai for giving us some of the best Tales of games through the years.

Has seriously no one put Bethesda as their favorite. They have their flaws but think all of the Elder Scrolls games, Fallout 3. Give them some credit.

the only problem with Bethesda is that their games are always buggy as hell. even with the fan-made patches (which obviously could not be applied to console versions) most Bethesda games had some critical bug that could potentially ruin your game

I don't disagree with the bug problems but from a rpg viewpoint Bethesda makes good rpg games.

Black Isle, bitches. The legend never dies.
I really hope they deliver on Project V13 though.
I still like BioWare somewhat too, while Mass Effect became worse and worse it never became Obsidian-bad. I also enjoyed Dragon Age II a fair deal and I hope they manage to find some middle ground between DA:Origins and DA:II for Inquisition.

to be fair NIS had bugs with the first ar telimico(i am sorry for mispelling) had bit of a bug around a specific boss but once pass that bug. overall it was a good game. bethesda rpgs what i didnt like is that traveling took too much time.

Obsidian bad? Of course nothing can be Obsidian bad, who the hell can make a game these days that's as broken as Alpha Protocol?

i just relize i didnt put the altus company out there? darn thats my mistake i can see y the other is winning. This is why a topic like this should never be a poll. There's just too many developers out there that specialize in just RPGs.

no i disagree, there always one company that rises above the others(i this case i epic fail)however if i put all or almost all company then would be seen more clearly best of anything for poll can be said(there too many) thats y we have poll to have the fan favorite best. best will always change with time but is always good to know for the record.

Bethesda, then Atlus, then Bioware.
Until recently the last Atlus game I'd played was Riviera: The Promised Land on the GBA, and I didn't even know that was Atlus then. Pre-ordered Shin Megami Tensei IV on a whim, and hooooooooly fuck I have no clue why I never picked up that series or at least the Persona spin-offs. Shot them way up in my mind.
