From the new loketest, it seems Rachel is not complete shit now.<3 5B 2B gatling is great and a Guaranteed Lobelia. Now just make that shiz not bounce off of other projectiles.
Also...<3 j2C cancellable on hit and block! Apparently the landing recovery on both hit and block can be normal cancelled yesss~ Oh yeah......6B is JUMP CANCELLABLE...on block.
6B slides on CH. Untechable time has been reduced: if you're in the corner, you can't combo unless you really rush and You can reposition George. He has a gauge now.
2C hitstun decreased 5CC auto-sliding windless is just too lovely.. Tempest Daliah has either been removed or it's input is changed and hidden from arcade input images. 6a of former CT glory. Sad face for Taokaka. This means you might lose all those free auto-pilot jump-ins.
Also, not sure if this is actually true, but heres a translation off the twitter some dude posted.
Rachel 2CCH> 1D> 6A> Lilly> 3lv Bound> A set> 3C1 hit> Iris> 6C> JC landing> JC> JC> A Robe
In English:
CH 2c > 1d > 6a > BBL > lvl3 j.2c > 236a > 3c(1) > Sword Iris > 6c > j.C > land > j.C jc J.C > j.236a = 5350 damage, 3 winds 50 meter.
YESSS!!!! will post more info later on.
brb gonna start training with Rachel.

Along with the Valk DLC the new patch apparently comes with a few changes:
quoted from dustloop:
System changes & bug fixes
- Trophy/Acheivement update w/ Valk DLC
- Faster matching speed in Ranked Matches
- Fixed a problem where some effects didn't disappear, which made the game have to process more info.
- On Kagatsuchi Port (Rain) stage, fixed a problem where an environmental sound effect didn't play correctly
- Fixed a problem where under certain circumstances if you choose Makoto in Player Matches the character select screen glitched.
- Fixed a problem in training mode where sound effects may not stop under certain conditions.
- Game now autosaves after completing each mission in challenge mode, you no longer have to go back to the main menu to save progress for that.
- Now when clearing score attack, your final score is displayed (this wasn't done before? never played score attack)
- Fixed the problem where in Legion mode DLC character portrait icons appeared, even though they're unusable in Legion mode.
- In network mode it remembers the last character you chose, and defaults to them.
- On network mode results after matches, "Used character PSR" and "Top PSR" information is displayed.
- Fixed a problem where in Ranked Matches / Quick Match the matching system would lock up and not advance.
- When training in ranked / player matches, on the character select screen you can now hit select/back to return to the room.
- Fixed some typos.
Character adjustments & bug fixes
- Fixed a problem where after George gets hit by Carl's Cantabile special, he started acting oddly.
- Fixed a problem where when using Taokaka's DLC colors, the displayed effects became distorted.
- Fixed a problem where icons sometimes did not display correctly near the health guage when Nirvana dies.
- In challenge mode, when using Λ-11's gravity well, the gauge auto-refills (I guess after dropping the combo, so you no longer have to wait for it to recharge)
- Fixed a problem which caused v-13's ghost merging with Λ-11 during her intro vs. Ragna to display incorrectly.
- Fixed a problem where if you pause during Tsubaki install the sound effect loops (or if you reset in training mode lol)
- Fixed a problem where under certain conditions after using Hazama's Jakou the effects didn't disappear properly after the move executes.
- Fixed a problem where Hazama didn't use the correct voice set vs. certain characters in Network Mode.
- Fixed a problem with V-13's voice set in Network Mode.
- Changes made to how Makoto's Space Counter (Parry) functions. (Probably goodbye parry loop imo)
- Changed something about how holding the D button to charge Makoto's Big Bang Smash and Planet Crusher.
- Changes made to Makoto's beginner mode.
- Fixed a problem where during Makoto's Planet Crusher Astral her crest effect didn't display.
- Fixed the problem where after getting hit by Makoto's Planet Crusher Astral you could still move around sometimes.
PS3 Specific fix
- Fixed a problem where after clearing score attack and uploading your score, it wasn't registered.
360 Specific fix
- Fixed a problem where PSR was added during Player Matches.

Very very new to fighting games and suck at them. I rarely played them and rarely went to arcades. Out of complete boredom though, I have chosen to pick up a genre that I completely suck at and start playing. BlazBlue CS is the game I have recently started playing and boy do I need some help. Any good advice out there like some way to practice? I for one have problems with getting comfortable with a joypad so far in terms of timing executions, also for some reason in fighting games I like to tap the same button like crazy sometimes. Any specific exercises that might help me have better control would help.

i dont know man BlazBlue has a pretty steep learning curve for beginners
i for one still suck at this game. i'm decent at fighting games thought my friends how to play.
other than practicing you should find a friend thats good at fighting games and just battle over and over your friend should help you along the way to understand the game. other than that i say you should play a more simpler fighting game. i recommend Capcom vs SNK 2 for the PS2. this is the game that helped me teach my friends how to play fighting games.

I would first suggest is to either find someone online, or a local fighting game scene and ask them to help your game out.
I would also suggest on looking at videos from top-level play for the character that you play as. This will help visualize how to play efficiently and effectively.
On the premise of button-mashing, just go to training mode and practice the combo slowly, and work your way up to teaching yourself on how to do the combo without having to mash buttons.
If you really want to get into the fighting game scene, get a Arcade Stick. Pads work fine as well, but look within yourself and think if you are better as a pad player or a stick player. No one can tell you that one or the other is best for you, but you alone.
Hope this helps!

Lol since playing this game this has been the only time I've wished I actually had a console. I'm playing the arcade to PC port atm and using the sparring selection as my closest thing to training. I have 1 friend who is a diehard fighting game maniac who even makes custom arcade sticks, so he's lending me one of his. I have another friend who I'm playing with atm moment to train with. He's one of those above average gamers at everything. Yeah I have been using a lot of professional matches as references and learning what they do. Still the one main problem for me is that input is still much harder as I'm still not use to being calm. Also a funny method of starting off slowly is that my laptop is sh*t so running BlazBlue CS it goes real slow. I've been using this method to get most of the basic BnB combos down and then applying it onto my home computer and friend's console game.

It's kinda hard to play an Arcade port of BB:CS on PC, but hey, it's better than nothing correct?
Again, just keep playing with them to get better, and see if you guys can find any local tournaments to enter in. A lot of good players don't mind giving advice to new players since a lot of them would like to see more players come and enjoy the game, even at the competitive level.
Check dustloop.com and go to the match maker forum and find the area that you are in, and start posting! Dustloop is a website for anything GG or BB related, and there are a lot of good guides to help you out, especially on character-specific guides. The community on DL (Dustloop) is great too.
Oh, also. Ask your friend to make an stick case for me please, I need another stick.
I have 1 working one that I use.
My MadCatz TE Round 1
Custom art and plexi
Seimistu PS-14-KN Buttons

I need to get one of my cases dual modded sometime soon, actually. Running around with two sticks (modded HRAP1 and a 360 TE) isn't fun :(
no. NO.
If you want a simple game to learn the basics, ST or Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HDRemix is what you want. CVS2 (and Guilty Gear, for that matter) is a great game, but the learning curve is sky high (way, WAY harder than BlazBlue), and there's a lot of fundamentals you learn that are pretty much exclusive to CVS.
Though admittedly, it'd be amusing as hell to see this new generation of SFIV players try and go back and learn CVS2 and get quickly blown up.

what are you talking about granted CVS2 has stuff that's only for that game, just go C-groove all the way its all you need for the basics. all the other grooves were to confusing to learn. in SuperTurbo i felt restricted cuz of its core limitation. overall it was just a fun game to play with 44 characters to choose form you'll find 3 favorite character and learn form them

ST's restrictions FORCE you to learn proper pkes, footsies, spacing, usage of normals, and the rest of your fundmentals. Essentially, if you can play ST right you can play any fighting game right due to the foundation.

So anyone know anything about this CS2 business? I should wait for that right? Heard it was coming in Dec.

Waiting for CS2 isn't going to mean anything unless you play in arcades. CS2 is basically just a reverse port from console to arcade, with some changes that they'll probably put in as DLC later on.

Wrong... MC Cuthulu's/ChImps have to be soldered to the PCB. Plus, a ChImp works better when you are dual-modding a 360 TE, thus easier to dual-mod a 360 TE over the PS3 TE. You have to solder a 360 Pad PCB to the PS3 TE PCB, which is not hard, but more time consuming than soldering a MC/ChImp to a PCB.
