Another interesting problem. Only thing I can suggest would be to re-download the patch again at the moment, since it may have been corrupted. Sadly, since college is starting back, I will have to see if I can find solution to that problem later, but try to see if re-downloading the patch and re-installation in a different directory yields any solution. Sorry I can't be of any more immediate assistance...

I've sucessfully installed the game and it's working. The only problem I'm encountering is applying the english patch. I've also tried using AppLocale but, still no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

re-installed and downloaded several times. Either I get the error as stated before or I get "access denied"

are you sure already do the right thing when installing the patch?
- when you asked a question in the cmd answer "tricky question" without quote (or so... for more info read the "Readme" in the patch when you un-rar it...)
- when you asked for Soft or Hard, for any circumstances you can type Hard (usually works well with any PC that i installed this game)
- when asked that is a npa_backup folder in your game folder.. if you see it answer yes, but if no answer no. (my experiences told me that there is no folder that named npa_backup.
-Also Make sure that your AppLocale is Japanese!

TO EVERYONE who's having problems installing the English patch, this is how I fixed it:
First, install the game to a folder OTHER than program files, because Windows messes up with authorizations, etc.
Then, copy the No Dvd crack to the install folder and replace the original .exe.
Copy the english patch folder to the folder where you installed Chaos Head. (This should be the folder where the ChaosHead.exe is located).
Then, right click on the CHAOS;HEAD folder and edit the permissions so that every one has "full control." Do this by right clicking the folder and clicking on the security tab, then clicking the "Edit..." button and checking allow for "full control" on each of the users (i.e. Authenticated Users, System, Administrators, etc.).
Next, install "take ownership," which allows you to take full control of a folder IN ADDITION TO THE "FULL CONTROL" step above. My patch didn't work until after taking ownership of the folder as well. Google "take ownership" and click on the first link.
After installing take ownership, right click on the CHAOS;HEAD folder and select "Take Ownership."
Then, run the English patch and follow the directions. Hopefully, it will run without any Access Denied errors!

I got the game working. But I can't watch the 2 first movies. so I wonder if it will always be a black screen when a movie is supose to come?

This is usually a video codec problem. Try installing a new set of codec with CCCP

During the installation, right after it asks "Do you have a folder called npa_backup" I input "No" then it says the cannot open file and I hit cancel, but after that I get a message that says "crage.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
I've tried to find out why it stops working and how to fix it, but so far no luck. Anybody have any ideas?

Delete everything, put your computer in regional settings in japanese locale,restart your computer, reinstall the game, and apply the patch.
Also before clicking the patch's executable, right click it and run it as administrator.

I already have my system locale set to Japan and have tried running as an administrator as well. I still get the same problem. (I reinstalled and double checked all that before replying).
Any other ideas? I really want to play this one, it was on my "to do" list forever but I never really got around to it.

I would have to redownload it and do a step by step with pics, a lot of people have trouble with this one, though I managed to install it already in 4 different computers, maybe are the computers or maybe the users, I have to find which one, some pages ago someone made a video tutorial about how to install Chaos;Head, though I don't remember which page, maybe I should redownload, are you in a hurry?

Just follow that closely and it should help. Also when installing, you make a folder in the root of the drive like I have and name it. Use that for the directory path. If you try to install in the same place after removing it..it will 100% percent fail (I can verify that, lol).

I downloaded,mounted and patched as said, but Chaos;Head is crashing for me.
At the CG scenes when the MC turns his chair around and shows a bit of his room, the game just freezes and then it says that I have to find a solution online or close it.
I'm using Win 7 if that helps.

Do you have your system locale set to Japanese? If not change it.
