Demon's Souls

Gameplay of the game to get some ideas
It looks like a must have game if you own a PS3. So far it seems to be like Oblivion but better in terms of gameplay. Your magic spells don't all look the same regardless of the level of the spell and you can dual wield weapons.I didn't think Oblivion had enough character interaction in terms of making the player care about the inhabitants in the game. I mean I could kill everybody and I wouldn't care since everyone seemed the same. It's a japanese game so I think that wont be a problem given the fact they know how to make us remember there characters. It has its own form on online multi that I still don't know all the details about, but so far it seems interesting.

I haven't got to play the game too much, but I got to play it at a friends for a bit. He imported it because the Japanese version has been out for awhile and is fully in English. It's a good RPG, not the greatest ever made, but undoubtedly the best the PS3 has as of yet, though I guess that isn't saying much with the lack of RPGs. But it really is a good game. For those of us who hate easy games, like most RPGs are, Demon's Souls strays from the crowd and is actually quite difficult.
But, one of it's main features, coop play, isn't done very well at all. It has a very awkward coop mode where you can invite a friend to play with you, but they manifest as their soul instead of their own character. Once beating the boss of the level/chapter that you are on, they return to their own body(game.)

I own the korean version because I was told that this game had no chance to be localized in the US. Lieing bastards...
Selling my copy on ebay and I'll pick up the Atlus copy later. Really fun and hard at the same time.

Finished the game yesterday (Chinese version) and it was great. After that you can play again on harder mode and I think I probably will. Its pretty hard but if u get used to it its a great experience.

I've seen plenty reviews of the game and I don't even know which I can trust.
Some make it sound like sure, the game is hard, but it's super awesome and you'll love it. Then there's another I read which said that the game is horrible because the checkpoint frequency is shit and that you get insta-killed arbitrarily and can only get passed the area without dying if you are clairvoyant. I'm on the fence with this game until I am sure that the constant deaths won't make the game unfair and ruin my experience.

I would like to see where it is they gave this game a bad review. It's hardcore and brutal. You sure will die a lot that's for sure, but that's what makes it great.

I hear Yushi likes to go into people's games and kill them. Be careful.

I haven't invaded anyone and don't really plan to but I like when people invade my game. I destroy thier armor and cut them up. So much fun when it happens.

there is usually 1 person who always flames good games for some really shallow reasons, i usually go with the numbers if there are more positive reviews then i would consider buying it and vice versa
and from what i see, there are more positive reviews for this game with only couple of negative ones
edit:Laughed at some of the reviews, "its too hard", "You lose all your money when you die". Well then suck it up and try again games these days are too easy when games like this comes out treasure them

Hahahah, it looks like that guy wants Demon's Souls: No Balls Ediition.
Enemies kill me to often make them weaker.
I rush in without looking and fall to my death, put in some invisible wall.
Ah, I made a wrong choice and now I have to live with it, how unfair.
What? You mean I have to think about what items and equipment I want to hold on to and which I should deposit or I'll be weighed down. That's something you don't see often. I don't like it. I don't like to think too much.
I don't like how other people invade my game and kill me. I know I can play offline and that problem will be solved, but I don't want to. I want to whine more about this.

It's funny how once you've played the game, you'll just see the criticism as a whine fest.yep my friends got the game when the first wave came out, next day they said it sucked monkey ass. i only played the game for 5 hours but i find it to be amazing(ly insane!). not only was it more difficult then i thought (died about 8 times in the 5 hours), but it actually challenged me, a hardcore rpg gamer, to think (just a little) more carefully about the next move i made. Imo the whiners were looking for another oblivion or whatnot and instead found their faces being melted off every 15 minutes.
