Wait, wtf. They took away the Necro's Iron Maiden curse?! That's absurd.... I'm assuming. I love the necro, but with any character I'm not much for casting (until I got a sorc up to lvl 89, fire).

God, so many people I run into online are starting up D2... the temptation is strong.

But I know I'm just gonna get pissed all over again that battlenet became a fucking swap-meet for Godly-gear... it kills the good ol' fun I had with my brother back in the day; a time where I didn't understand the culture too much, but my brother was a big time holder of the big currency at the time, SOJs.

I;'m not a fan of hardcore cause shit happens and I don't want to fucking lose my char, ya know :P

Never took the time to understand ladder. Anyone want to convince me to make my char there if I start back up?

Ladder has access to better rune words and some items which aren't in non-ladder. Its also resets entirely every time they start a new one so it will be more to your liking because you said you don't like the godly gear swap meets.

Sounds intriguing, and from this FAQ I read when the ladder season ends I am automatically converted to a non-ladder char and can go about my business w/ w/e ladder-only items I got (hope I read it right and this is still true).

Once I get my computer back in a few weeks here (All of my games are with it...)

Jesus I hit the jackpot today. Made a game to trade for and amulet and I got a guy clearing out his fucking characters, getting some fucking sweet items.

my d2 client crashes whenever i step outside the act5 town

this only happens outdoors - inside the town, in the caves, but also at the ancients the game doesn't crash

also right outside the town (where the first 3 dudes fight with a barbarian) is a safe zone, but as soon as i step further it starts some sort of countdown of a few seconds (where i can teleport all over the place and see shit just fine etc) before it crashes

i remember fixing this issue once but i have no fucking idea how i did that back then , i tried googling like a retard but dont find any leads

graphic settings don't affect anything and it's also not because of windowed mode

any ideas?

Google the error message and see what you get, i'm sure other people have had the same problem. Also is it just Nacho and Soulslayer on D2? Common people.

anyway uh i did the brute force solution and just downloaded the english cd images for both d2 and lod and did a full re-install

shit doesn't crash anymore and i don't have to deal with the horrible german translations anymore

I have the problem of living in the GMT+1 time zone (same as with nacho, apparently :p), so whenever I'm on, nobody else is. :|
