DLC in video games

Did you hate it? That you want to beat the game, you have to pay 40 bucks just to get the ending??? Yeah, i really wish this trend died, cause i remember the time where we beat the game. You'll be rewarded a super duper cool weapon that can one shot your enemies to oblivion. And now... You want to get this weapon? BUY OUR DLC!!! You want to beat the game? BUY OUR DLC!!! God, like i said, i really hope this trend die.

I truly hate it when DLC is really expensive. Take $20 for the Dawnguard Skyrim DLC, you're paying for a THIRD of a new game! Is the DLC going to be even add a THIRD of what Skyrim has?
Along with "season passes" where you hardly save anything nowadays, COD: BO2 with it's $50 season pass for example.
DLC has become a system to abuse for companies, it all started with Horse Armor back in Oblivion and idiots keep buying stupid DLC like that, THAT'S WHY we get ridiculous DLC now and hardly anything fair nowadays.

I'll be honest, I hate DLC in general. Maybe I'm biased on this, but I believe that the good old times when everything, from the regular content to bonuses, were already inside the game, were the best. Now not only the average game costs much more than in the past (70€ for a brand new Xbox360/PS3 game here :V), you also have to spend more if you want to get the bonuses (which sometimes are deliberately too tempting to pass up). The worst though is that now some games' levels or even endings are DLC themselves, just look at Asura's Wrath. Too bad that most companies know that gamers are willing to pay extra, so they charge extra, like "you want to enjoy your game fully? hand over the money", which I feel is insulting to the customer among other things.
I guess you could call them "DLC of the past", since they provided additional stuff for a price. BUT, they weren't mandatory, now with DLC you might as well say "ok I bought 2/3d's of a game as a physical object, the remaining 1/3 will come out one day as digital stuff". That's bullshit.
What happened to good old expansions.

It does pisses me off seeing companies taking advantage of it, seems like they don't even try to give everyone a "complete" game in physical format.
The only DLC's that haven't pissed me off so far are Rock Band's, they have the justification that is really hard to fit more than around 80 songs on the disc.
So far the last "complete" game I've played was Bayonetta, it really felt like a good old game where you need to unlock everything by your own skill going through it.
Either way, even at it, I hope more companies start using DLC as it should be anytime soon.
Yeah, it's kind of pointless expect something from companies that are already with mentality of taking everyone's money with things already on the disc and such *coughcapcomcough*, but there's still companies that know how to deliver good (and complete lol) games out there so, I still have hope xP

DLC sucks. Sure, there may be some reasons why content that's in a DLC isn't put on the disk, but come on. If it can't be put on the disk for whatever reason then just make it a free download. It shouldn't be that hard for companies to be kind to their fans and not try to milk every last cent out of them.

The problem is that the DLC content almost never justifies the high prices. Like paying $5 for skins that used to be free in the modder era. Its like they just want to bilk fans for more.

Before having DLC for a game was a treat. Because it added to a game that was already great. Like Oblivion
but for current gen games. They sell unfinished games and the DLC is what you need for the full game experience. Its a shit ploy to get more money.

When DLC actually enhances your video game experience, DLC is very acceptable.
But when DLC is abused... I loose a big amount of respect for the company and their games...
Train Simulator [size=20]2013[/h] has 96 DLC packs, for a total of 2074 USD...

"If you don't want it don't buy it"
Screw that statement.
Do they have any idea how heartbreaking it is when you love a game but don't want to support the whole aspect of paying as much as half the game for a couple of new things?
I'm looking at you Sims 3

This statement in itself pretty much reflects my feelings towards Capcom lately. They used to be one of my most loved gaming companies, but now? Their stupid DLC practices merely piss me off.

Depends on the DLC honestly. Stuff like DLC characters should just be unlockable in game.
Really, I don't have a problem with stuff like costumes, as long as it's not overpriced (*cough* TALES OF GRACES F *cough*) and you get to pick and choose which ones you want.

Yeah, man, the DLC outfits in ToG F are kinda steep, I only managed to buy a few good ones so far aside from the bonus enhancements for the game. Hope to see them soon as I've already gotten into a bit of the game.
As for me, I have no qualms with DLC as long they can enhance the gaming experience if you have a deep love for the game and want to milk it a little more, even better if it comes with trophies to get.

You could unlock all of ToGF's costumes in game though. They were overpriced but at least you didn't have to buy them.
