Apparently Sparda went from being the savior of humanity to Satan's right hand man.
But what really pisses me off to no end is the fact that Vergil uses a gun now.(@1:20 in the video)
Now you've really crossed the line Ninja Theory...
Reminds me of what Vergil said about using guns as a win quote from UMVC3, I'm just as disappointed in NT even more like you, Koga. Fitting him with a hat to go with his design doesn't help ease the pain either.
What intrigues me the most is the quick Rapid Slash preview at the end of the trailer, does this mean we'll get to play as this version's Vergil as a bonus?

Been watching the new trailers for this game.... the story seems a bit generic?? But seems like character development between Vergil and Dante might be pretty good.

Seems like Vergil, or whoever you guys want to call him in this version, is making his NT debut at last. Can't say I'm pleased with what I see so far, but seeing a different side to him may change things up a bit.
ugh I see a young, less cooler version of wesker...

DLC already announced...It's called Vergil's downfall.
And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, it's free.
Nice to see Vergil still has Spiral Swords in his moveset.

As promised, the DLC will not be housed on-disc. Fans will have a chance to download this DLC from XBLA and PSN for 720 MS points ($8.99 on PSN). North American consumers who pre-order DmC Devil May Cry at GameStop or EB Canada will receive a redeemable code to download Vergil's Downfall for free when it becomes available "shortly after" the game's launch.

Huh. Didn't know it would be sold later down the line, I just knew it was a pre-order bonus.

and here i thought the new vergil looked more like a character that was supposed to be in glee, now he's more dmc3-ish than the new dante.

I'll be preordering the new DMC tomorrow for sure.
Yeah, when I saw the first trailer for it, I thought, "WTF happened to Dante?" Then I find that it's going to be a reboot.
Kind of bothers me that they went with rebooting the series, but that's mostly because we've mostly been bombarded with reboots from movies, games, even TV and comics.
Digging the new emphasis on aerial combat, and the few weapons that have been shown so far are going to make things interesting.

Well, after debating with myself over this game, and after seeing the Vergil trailer, now I'm thinking of getting it to add to my collection despite the changes, it looks like it can hold its own as an alternate DMC.
Also...LEADERBOARDS, nuff said.

So Vergil...He's a dinosaur now.
This games is more than likely going to suck.

What hurt my soul even more is finding out both he and the alternate Dante we'll be playing are now half-demon and HALF ANGEL, how the hell that's gonna work? Wasn't Dante"s human ties what made most of his character?
Anyway, have any of you played the demo yet? What are your thoughts on it so far?
Personally, I"m digging the new and trippy environments, totally shows a different feel from the usual DMC territory. However, my two cents in the complaining section goes towards the altered and simplified control scheme, making combat kind of so-so when compared to DMC 3 and 4, and the dialogue needs some work in some places. It really doesn't feel DMC-ish to me in certain scenes, but it's a good attempt.

The environment looked cool, and the villain looked interesting.
The actual combat felt clunky and slow. The protagonist seems unlikable even though he's presented as a snarky bad ass we're suppose to like.
Capcom and Ninja Theory are also not acting....nice.

Played the demo earlier and I liked it.I don't have much to say since I didn't have anything to say, but I enjoyed playing the demo.

Played the demo, watched a few cutscenes from friends playing this game. I'm not one of those butthurt fanboys, but I have played the original 4.
Dante in this game just seems really immature. Dante in the original series wasn't much of the caring type, nothing really got to him, except for the first game where he lost his temper. The other games he was presented as a bad-ass with little to no care of his enemies other than kicking their asses back to the demon world.
Maybe it's just me, but they curse too much in this game. The original DMC never really was one for potty talk, it was more business and objective-worthy. It's too modernized, including the demons. The old DMC's tone of voice for demons was times of old. Not "I'm going to rip off your head, shit down your neck and piss on your entrails and show it to you"
Finally, Vergil. I don't know if he's still using Yamato, but they've change he way of the blade. Vergil's style was to slash faster than the eye could see, in DMC3 and even DMC4 you could never really "see" the blade, you could see its sword shining in the motion where he slashed but they kinda toned him down in this one.
Altogether, I'll buy this when it's cheaper, but it wasn't all bad to play, it just isn't DMC style anymore. I can't do the combos I could in DMC3, because it's slower paced. DMC4 style combos, maybe at best.

I can now agree with others that the combat in the game is really broken, here are some examples:
1) It is MUCH MORE harder just to build and get a SSS rank this time around, you either get it by keeping the carnage going without getting hit, or is also given to you by doing a certain, single move or combo.
2) Average/advanced jump-cancel combos won't advance your stylish rank like they used to back in DMC 3/4, and enemies who get jump-cancelled won't die before they reach the ground. It's as if trying to say jump-cancel in the upcoming DmC is hardly dependable now.
3) Rebellion has some huge hitboxes, you can pretty much close distance between an enemy by just attacking from a certain distance.
4) As much as I love to use the Charge Shot, you can only charge it for another use after TWO attack animations! It can't be exploited for damaging gun combos, but the ricochet effect it creates makes for some sweet combo setups.
