So the game was realesed. What do you think?
Personally, apart from a few gay moments from Dante's voice actor it was a great game. The combat was amazing, good comedy between characters, character design was really good and a it had good reboot story overall.

Bad side? Being in Limbo every fucking mission. It became tiresome. Also unlocking Hell and hell is simply gonna be a bitch and I'll probably get bored way before then. And the acheivements were shit.

I think Ninja theory did DmC incredibly well and the series seemed to be dying under Capcom (yeah, I said it), especialy with DMC 4. The game seemed more serious this time and Dante didn't lose his cockiness or style. I was dissapointed not to see Lady or Trish though... Maybe next time.

Other than the character designs, (though Vergil's outfit was spiffy) I liked pretty much everything in the game. Especially the combo system and the weapon transition, which felt pretty smooth under my control. Of course, the lack of drastically different scenery was a bit of a downer, but it was alright.

Now on my progress; on the final mission. The boss isn't too hard (especially on Devil Hunter/Normal), but for some unknown, goddamn reason I cannot finish him off. I know how to do it, and I just couldn't do it in the one hour I dedicated just fighting against that boss without rage-quitting. Which is why I'm here.

Currently playing the game. I like the gameplay and soundtrack. I am however mad at how they transformed Sparda. I mean he was a frecking legend, but now he's well...Mundus's bitch.

As for the new Dante. I like the old dante better but I don't particularly hate the new one either - I suppose I have a neutral opinion on him.

So far this is my favorite music from the soundtrack that I use that involves anything to do with exercising or working out..Really gets you pump up.

This is not a comment on the gameplay or if the game was made well or not, simply wished to get this off my chest... I will likely never play this game, because no you don't have to redefine 'cool', no DMC didn't need to be rebooted and remade in an alternate reality where Dante is half demon half angel, and no we don't need a Dante shouting Donkey Punch or how large his dick is... Again, I'm sure it was a well made game, that it works fine, maybe even plays great and may be a great game... I'm just choosing not to, sorry for being close minded.

Finally finished the game, and I got to say it wasn't that bad.

Made dante and vergil fight - it fits with their rivalry in the original.

However I was disappointed with

The final fight with Mundus he wasn't that powerful or even a giant figure that says "I'm the demon king" compared to the fight with him in the original series where he actually looked like a demon king.

So in regards to the 2nd game if they make it, is that I hope Dante will put up a demon hunting business quite similar to the original series. While Kat becomes dante's assistant or secretary who takes calls and cases for him,

since she'll no longer be needed to open portals to limbo or out of limbo since all demons are out in the real world.

Quite similar to what Trish does in the original. Speaking of Trish I hope her and lady will show up in later games and join Dante's team so in total compared to the original where dante had 2 girls. The new Dante will have 3 girls.

I was really looking forward to how Lady and Trish will be like in this version >_> I'll be waiting another year or two.

PS. If Ninja Theory put Nero in this version, I'll be looking for the head of their studio. Probably be keeping it as well.

Mundus had four different appearances:

1) Beginning of the game, the tall statue when you first enter the castle.

2) Same looks as the original, just a gigantic version of him in a chair.

3) Bearded bastard with angel wings.

4) Same as the third time except with interior parts popping out which looks like orange muscle.

He looks like he's made out of marble/stone in all of them.

To be honest all the way to the end I never really got the feeling that the angels hated him. Rather I always thought all the angels that was shown in the game was more interested in him than hated him.

There were angels shown in that game? I don't remember that. You mean the statue that looks at you and calls you Nephilin? If not, when? I mean I know about his mum, but that doesn't really count.

The angels weren't present in-game but in dante's many flashbacks you see them, like this one's

I picked this game up early this week. Is it really worth playing?

From what I've seen, gameplay-wise and level-wise yes, story and dialogue no.

Exactly this. If you can ignore the retelling and alternation of the sons of Sparda and the heavy adult content, something the original series didn't rely on to become a legend on it's own, it's still a pretty good game. Just wished it wasn't named 'Devil May Cry'.

I myself picked up a copy earlier this week in order to challenge myself for the trophies, Hell and Hell will probably be my biggest DMC challenge ever, but beating the mode is actually doable. If I beat and platinum this one, (which is my intention as a DMC vet) my DMC trophy collection will truly be complete. (Please, Capcom, why you no give DMC 4 a trophy patch?)

Oh damn, I forgot about them. Still interested in their reaction to him and I'm sure there will be a few that will try to kill him.

Second theory: Dante opens his demon hunting shop and Trish will drive a motorbike through it, scaring the shit out of Kat while Dante munches on pizza... On a side note, has Dante ever actually finished one of his pizzas?

This is a good game.

I don't think he's that lucky. Even in the anime series he never got a break. Though being surrounded by 2 hot girls and being a badass - I don't think he needs the break. Also I agree with the comment above yours about the adult content. The game "is" good without showing to much nudity.

So I asked my friend if I should give this game a shot. He asked me;

"Don't you hate games with poor dialogue, and you were practically a diehard fan of the original DMC series right?"

"Yeah, why? I don't hate this. Sure Dante and Vergil are a little different, I don't mind. I'm sure the dialogue isn't that bad. Plus, I played the Demo, it's slower than the original DMC games, but you can still screw with the engine a little more than usual."

You should do like me and just play custom soundtracks while skipping cutscenes to enjoy the game like I am, that's the only way to go around the laughable bad dialogue in this game.

Really surprised me they made Vergil said that, I'm sure the original Vergil is facepalming to this game about now.
