I'm fairly sure that they said "Only on PS3" at the end of the FFXIV trailer. I'll have to check some other time.If there is one thing we've learned this generation it is that "Only on" means nothing any more. XD

I think Microsoft stole this year's E3 again.
Microsoft>Nintendo>Sony for me. Can't wait for the new Metroid and Golden Sun. Mario Galaxy 2 and New Super Mario Bros. are also stuff I'm really anticipating.

But now that I think about it, isn't this the first direct Mario sequel we've had in a long time? (not including the side stuff of course)

I think the last time there was an actual numbered sequel would have been Mario Bros 3 right? After that it's been mario 64, mario sunshine, etc. Excluding the mario parties/sports/racing games then I think that's the last time there was a numbered sequel.
Oh wait, Super Mario World 2. Good ole Yoshi. :)
Btw, have you gotten Knights in the Nightmare yet Zero? I ordered mine with mega-crap shipping so I probably won't get it till the middle of the month ~_~

I can't stop smirking at how amazing MAG looks. Its BF2142 meets PlanetSide. My two favorite PC games.

I think Nintendo came out of that really badly. They basically had casual shit, Mario, casual shit, Mario for about an hour and showed a logo for the next Zelda game. Their motion sensor crap has been outdone by both Sony and Microsoft, in different ways.
Microsoft could only offer two new Halo games (though the word "new" seems strangely inappropriate here) and then some impressive motion control. Sony had motion control too but also had an MGS game that actually has Snake in (as well as MGS:Rising), God of War III, the next Ico game (I seriously shat bricks when I saw it), FFXIII just like MS but then also FFXIV.
So basically, there wasn't a single MS or Nintendo game I wanted, though I was seriously impressed with MS's motion sensor stuff. I cringed and then lol'd (as did my friends who were here) when Nintendo literally alternated between pathetic casual shit and Mario, the only two exception to the "Mario" bit of the rule being when they showed a drawing of Link and the Metroid game. Especially when that bitch harped on about INNOVATION before showing the very fucking HEIGHT of innovation; another Mario game that looks like the last DS Mario game and another Mario game that looks like the last Wii Mario game. When the head of Nintendo said that the Wii is going through a crisis right now, he wasn't kidding.

Nintendo is the only one of the three that actually innovates, the other two just follows if what Nintendo does is succesful.
They didn't have the balls to try something new, and look who lost this generations console war.

Who's lost anything? That's what I hate about this stupid concept of a console war. No one has won or lost anything. Just play games, not the systems.

But i agree that fighting over which console is better is retarded, fanboyism will only make you miss some awesome games because they're on the "wrong" system.

The camera needs to recognize objects in order for them to apply into game action. Let's see just how well you can change gears in that racing game, huh? Sony's thing seems to be just like Microsoft's, only with a "wand". In either case, the motion sensing is completely separate from the regular controller. You know what that means, right? Pretty much only "casual" titles are going to bother with such a device.

What are you talking about? Sony and Microsoft's motion sensor stuff has more in common with EyeToy, a Sony creation that came out before the Wiimote.
When Tsurayu talks about the console war, he's more referring to how it's just some stupid marketing spin. You don't hear about "the pen wars", how many units of pens are being sold in each region? Or "the fridge wars" or anything else like that.
@ZeroOBK: And outside of the usual first-party games, only casual games bother with the DS touchscreen and Wiimote, outside of basic menu control, that is. Oh, and No More Heroes, which sadly sold like shit. Remember, with the MS motion control, you could still be holding the controller while being picked up by the sensor. That means you could play, for example, a flight sim with the regular controller but turning your head IRL turns the pilot's head in the game. Same for a racing game. The MS and Sony methods are way more versatile than, to quote one of the guys from E3, "Sitting on your sofa and waggling some bit of plastic".

Doesn't change the fact that Nintendo has won this generation though.

Lol@fanboys who changes their minds after what their favourite company puts out, such pathetic faggotry.

That Sony wand thing in gonna flop really hard. There's no way casual players will buy a $500 console just so they can try that thing. The main reason why the Wii is so successful is because it's affordable and doesn't require someone to buy separate accesories.
Nothing is gonna save Sony this gen. They were doomed since E32006.

As for Microsoft, how can you do something with your hands (which will be anything that matters) when you are holding a fucking controller?! And let's say you can, then you'd be waggling a piece of plastic just the same! Ingenious!
As for the DS touchscreen, clearly TWEWY is a "casual" game. Let's throw in Knights in the Nightmare into that "casual" category as well! Overextended statements that have no merit FTW!

I think the Sony motion thing was neat but it's a gimmick. Sure it's innovative but I won't buy it. Not unless it's cheap. They will most likely start bundling it with the system. My bet would be that they bundle it as standard when the PS3 slim comes out. Sony and micro want some of the casual action that Nintendo has been swimming in and the reason is obvious. But I still think price has a lot to do with it. Sony works on the "ten year plan" as it always has so the PS3 will eventually get pretty cheap. It has six more years left after all. I am still expecting a price drop this year. Most analysts are too.
Nintendo was shit this year in my opinion. I don't care about one Sun something game so that didn't "make up" for their dismal display. Just a bunch of useless stuff and I think wii fit plus? I haven't read much up on that but when I heard about it I face palmed. There were a few highlights I will admit.
Micro won E3 this year. I liked their stuff and their games (except the Halo shit, let him die already.) Sony came in second and Nintendo dead last. All in all E3 in it's entirety was shit. Anybody agree with me on that?

I'm actually surprised this year since I don't remember the previous two years having so much coverage. Anyway, I think most people consider GDC and TGS more significant than E3 at this point.
Edit: Just thought I'd mention this, but apparently Cave Story Wii and Sin and Punishment 2 were playable demos at E3.
