Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have skyrim on my pc, and I have a logitech game pad, that i use to play legend of zelda, but I am having a hard time tuning the buttons to use the control to play skyrim. Help?

I FINALLY got it in the Steam Summer Sale at 50% off. I just need to get to the library with wi-fi later this week and download it. It would take for-fucking-ever to try to download it on dial-up.edit: Got the game downloaded. Holy shit is it easy to get sidetracked. I apparently cleared the first dungeon in a side quest before I had to go there to get a story relevant item. I had to go all the way through the dungeon, no enemies this time to get that damn stone. I also got a pretty sweet battleaxe. Note to self: check every fucking enemy corpse.
Also, should I join the Imperials or the Stormcloaks? I'm playing as a Nord right now if that makes any difference.

I killed off stormcloaks because in my mind since imperials seem to be less of a racist motherfuckers.
Also, later in game and in story mission, you can skip the negotiations if you have dealt with war.
