Final Fantasy Fanboys why are there so many?

Back in the day, FF was attempting to break into a Japanese market UTTERLY dominated by Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest clones. DQ hasn't been getting a lot of mileage in western countries until lately, but in Japan DQ is gold. DQ is to Japanese pop culture what RICE is to Japanese Cuisine.
FF was not an attempt to make it in the japanese market it was acksully supost to be squares final game put out because they where dieing. it just terned out it saved the company and alowed them to make more games the real reason it was
called FF was ment to be there final game

For my FF is a good serie, but I think that they did too good with the 7 and after all the others look plain.
Now, the problem with the FF is that the male character look like they come out of Yaoi and the Square games are less manly that the manga of Clamps^^
If they could do a FFT2 and not a FFTA2...

Finally someone who doesn't think that 7 is the greatest thing ever made.Final Fantasy 7 was overrated. People loved it because it was 3D. 8 was better, and 9 was just as good as 8.

I use to be a huge final fantasy fan girl. But one thing tipped the scales and killed the series for me and that would be FF 7. I personally hate the game to no end.Im not saying its a bad game. I just hate it because it tainted one thing that in my childhood I thought would never fall to such low points, that was the FF series at the time.

i liked the first two suikodens a lot as well. 3 wasnt bad and 5 woulda been great if it werent so rediculously easy. i mean all of them were a little too easy but five was just silly how easy they made it. i never played 4, so i cant say anything about that one.You didnt miss anything, after the awesomeness of the first two (never played 3) collecting the 114 stars of destiny in 4 was a tradgedy of epic failness. There was only one real 'dungeon' area in the whole game, most of the your time is spent crossing oceans, literally hours of going very slowly in a straight line, fighting the same 2 or 3 monster types every 2 seconds, random encounter rate was stupid. Overall the graphics were much improved, but it seems like they just ran out of time to add content to it.

This my be a bit off topic, but well, I replayed FF8 a few months ago. It wasn't anywhere near as good as I remembered. Squall was annoying as hell and the story was mediocre at best. The battles had a nice system though and the cg graphics were pretty good even by today's standards.
Thinking this over, I've come to the conclusion that the main FF series has just gone downhill since the move to 3d. As many have stated, FF7 was good, but not amazing, just way too overrated. FF9 was fun but as soon as they started to develop a decent plot towards the end of the game, they just scrapped everything and added an entirely new explanation of things at the very end. FF10 was also fun but suffered the same problems as 8, an annoying lead an mediocre plot. In all fairness I can't say anything about 10-2, 11, or 12 as I havent played any of them aside from a demo of 12(wasn't impressed).
I think FF1, 4, and 6 were some of the best rpg's ever made. 5 was great, although the plot wasn't anything too engaging. (Only played part of 2, none of 3). Thoughts?

I am a fanboy, and for very good reason.
Through all the times I played FFVII I never seen that scene in that perspective until now. x_x
I don't think I qualify as a FF Fan, I played almost every FF game, but I pretty much buy every RPG that is released so that isn't saying much. I'm definitely a DW/Q fan,it was my very first RPG I ever played.
