Now that people has played a bit of the beta and the open beta will start soon. Is the game worth the price plus the sub fee? Would like to get opinions, obviously leveling from 1-15 is god awful in every mmo but yea... how was your impressions?

The game doesn't innovate... At least from what I've seen until level 20.

The pay to play model is imo one of the selling points of the game. This way, you won't be needing to pay micro transactions in game (pay to win) and the developers will have a predictable amount of income to give them incentive to pump out additional features. Plus, being an mmo player, the developer seems to really get it from a gamer perspective. He listens to community feedback and also addresses them, which is probably the main reason why I pre ordered the CE after 1 weekend.
The game imo does a lot of things right, but the battle mechanic is pretty much what it is at level 10 as it is at level 50. If you don't find like the GCD system at low level then chances are you won't like it any more when you're at end game. The limit break system is pretty lackluster but hopefully they'll change it up for phase 4.

I've been enjoying it!!! When phase 4 starts Hopefully no NDA and then I'll be streaming as I play.. I got my archer to 17 and half.. I hope there's better pacing and the story missions continue to at least lvl 30..
I recommend anyone interested or just want to use some time for whatever reason.. Get into the open beta.. there's no date on when it'll be.. but phase 3 ends monday morning, so should be announced sometime soon after.

Haven't played the beta but being a huge Final Fantasy fan, I already bought myself the Collectors edition.
Never played Final Fantasy 11 cause I was at school at that time and when I got enough money to try out FF 14 they cancelled it. So at least now I get to finally play a FF:MMO
Also this trailer really cemented my decision on buying the collectors edition.

Even though Im from the UK I'm probably going to play in any US server. Though what server is still to be decided since I havent played beta.

My hope for ARR is that the game will manage to accommodate paladin tank parties (traditional Tank and spank) and warrior tank parties (GW2 style DPS) at end-game content. If they can manage that, then this game will satisfy all my cravings for a sub based MMO.
It's a little tedious at early levels, but you can literally get out of the 1-15 range in less than a hour, primarily by chasing FATEs and streamlining your hunter's log kill quests. The early game side quests are only necessary for gil, many of the fetches being very time inefficient and boring. I do a minimal amount of them to get the money necessary to buy the missing gaps inside of the gear check story quest and then speed through the storyline quests to enable Leves. After that 10-15 is pretty much faster than 1-10.

I got the game the week it came out and had an account since them, I haven't used it in a few months, but I should still be covered for the subscription for when it comes out on the ps3. Hopefully the rumor that anyone who had an account for over a year, will get a cheaper subscription is true.

Also has anyone manage to input their code? There seems to be a problem with their servers and whatnot and causing major headache among many players. Not to mention Confusion.
I don't know if anyone has the same problem but as for me, I pre-ordered the C.E back in 27th of July and after a few minutes they sent me a confirmation email saying that "You dont need to do anything right now and we will email you near the Early access day for the next step" or somewhere along those lines.
During that time I didn't find this weird since I thought they will send me an email with my code in it but going into forums I've read that a lot of players already have their codes and that the codes were apparently in my confirmation email. Using a magnifying glass I re-read my email in its entirety and I find no code whatsover except for the Order# but I'm pretty sure that wasn't it, since it was only 13 letters and numbers. Apparently you need 18 (6 letters - 3 numbers - 6 letters - 3 numbers)
So I'm kind of worried with only 3 days to go and so much confusion. Anyone having the same problems?

For my time zone it's 6 hours to go until early access.
Though judging from recent brand-new hyped MMO experience... it might be pretty hard to get in, even at 5 AM on a Saturday... let's see how it plays out. Hopefully Square Enix learns from other titles and opens a bazillion servers (even if it means shutting them down later)...
