Horror games with weapons or no weapons

I would much the atmosphere and surroundings be creepy and the occasional thing run across the end of a hallway than something just popping out an surprising (read scaring) the shit out of me. I'm not saying such a game exists but I would like to see one. As to the subject of weapons I'd like the scarcity style. Like how you can find/improvise a melee weapon (that breaks with too much use) a lot and when you finally find the pistol you want to get on your knees and sob because of how happy it makes you...then the quest for the bullets would begin. A world where you're more dependent on survival not killing everything.

We need a horror game not marketed as a horror game. Only then when we be truly scared. Like a game were you would have to go do some extra stuff to get to the horror part.
The matter of weapons tho depend on what kind of horror the designer is going for.
If for the feeling of hopelessness then no weapons like slender
But just scare the fuck outa you sure all the weapons you want

Okay I've tried Slender and I wasn't frightened at all. It seemed predictable.

Yea I wasn't ether. If I didn't know it was a horror game and it didn't give off the "Trying to scare you" vibe then I would be terrified by the sudden appearance of slender

No weapons. Fox only. Final Destination.
But in all seriousness having no weapons really does add to the feeling of helplessness, which is good for the genre. I don't like it when they try to make it too "action" oriented to appeal to larger audiences.
