PC gaming will never die. Crysis, Orange Box, Gary's Mod, and shit load of free online games.Honestly that would be awesome. I always wondered what would happen if someone actually made something like that.
It'll probably be by the time the PS5 comes out, or the Xbox 2560

I don't really think pc gaming is dying. The selection for pc games at your local target is as big or bigger than say the xbox360 or ps3 selection. Ever since back in the day, there were always a fuckton of titles available for the pc that you may have never even heard about. This still continues today to a certain extent, just depends where you shop at. But I do think that because of all the piracy and cracks that are easily made available, it is deterring companies from considering making a pc game or a port from a console. Not to say that there isn't piracy happening for the consoles but most people are dumb and dont realize they can do the same thing with them. Subscription-based games will continue to thrive and games that require cd-keys for online multiplayer will also hold out but the single-player games are probably gonna be the ones you see less and less of.

There will always be people who will not make the switch to a console. Also, the mentioned games make it good and RTS games on console's fail, though I'm hearing that will change with Tom Clancy's new game and Halo Wars. It's also easier to pirate a game on the PC. :D
Also, with online systems the way it is, it seems the MMOs will still favorite the PCs for a long while.

PC gaming will die when they change the name of the PC, and even then I doubt people will stop making games for them until it is a total waste of time, then they will switch to whatever the PC is being called at the time, kind of like when the first television was created, they didn't call it a television they called it something else, I think.

Pc will never die. While all consoles feature great online communities, the PC one is still stronger which i like. I just browse the internet while in 2 separate ventrilo waiting for friends to wake up / finish work / get on, so i can play TF2 / S4 / whatever MMO we're thinking of playing ( Going to Warhammer when its out ) PC gaming makes it so much easier to play with friends imo

PC gaming will never ever die.. console cannont compete with it in my stand point.. And with the price thing *little late on it* People who know how to build computers can make very very good ones for the price of a console.

I've seen no evidence to suggest that PC gaming is dying nor have I heard any convincing argument to support such a claim. Gaming on the PC is alive and well exactly because it caters to users who want more control over their hardware and even certain genres (FPS and RTS games just don't feel right unless they're played on a PC).
I must say, though, that the counter-propaganda is getting old fast. PC gamers are not the master race like many of them seem to think they are.

PC Gaming is like some have stated that it's staying where it is. With many new games on the PS3, Xbox, and Wii the graphics are amazing. But for a PC to play games like that you would require quite a bit of money to upgrade your PC to even play those games than to use less money to get the console and a few selected games.
But with a few new games coming in late 08, who knows. ;D

Modern graphical capabilities are all amazing if you're old enough to know what early gaming was like.

Wii graphics can be amazing. It's all up to the developer though.

In this case you're saying PC gaming will die if it's name will change. Wtf? What died when the television's 'original' name was changed?

Putting the Wii together with the Ps3 and 360 when it comes to graphics isn't something i'd do though, the Wii is only a Gamecube on speed lol.
There's alot of games where the graphics are on an early Ps2 level.

I regret buying the Wii it doesn't really cater much to a hardcore gamer and Nintendo's E3 sucked bad. I don't hate the Wii though, I still play Brawl because it's really fun when you have friends over. I just don't think the Wii is the right console for a 'hardcore' gamer unless you love Nintendo's franchises.
