For those of you who just started MHW and just want get to or get through Iceborne (G-Rank) as quick as possible while going solo: Get a Heavy Bowgun with good Sticky Ammo Lvl 2 or 3 capacity (I don't know which ones are good for non endgame, but I know there are tons of resources online about this), equip the shield mod, and grow as many blastnuts as you can.
Sticky HBG with shield is the most braindead, stress free way to get to endgame. It's literally a ranged hammer except you trade damage spikes for consistency and status ammo. It's fucking ridiculous. I use HBG for any flying wyverns who stay in the air for prolonged period of time.

Thanks for the info, I'm mostly play Duel Blades, but I thinking to try something new, I really appreciated your advice, thanks

Heavy bowgun is definitely a great choice for burning through the story. I personally prefer the hammer to cartwheel off walls at the moment, simply for all those heavy strikes in a row, and the chance to KO an enemy is also great.

I played about 50 hours and couldn't for the life on mine get into this game's combat system. I want to give it another shot, but I have really shitty internet, so downloading will probably take a few days.

I've got about 230 hours in World (which was my intro to the series) but I've gotten pretty burnt out on the grind. Still haven't beaten the Rajang expedition. Too stronk for me.
