Nicknames for pokemon

im taking ProJareds style and just making noises with my mouth until i form words. Its a lot of fun, isnt that right Gahbando "Rhyhorn"

I generally don't use nicknames, except maybe for the starter

I actually never used to nickname my Pokemon but for some reason I decided to in X (which I got 2 days ago). Most are semi-random. Some I like though are:

Sham Wow - Chespin
Rule 34 - Ralts
First gen - Pidgey
Bouncin Boss - Azurill
Beeatch - Combee
Foamonkey, Fernmonkey, and Flamonkey - Panpour, etc.
P!mpslap - Riolu (they don't allow pimp I guess)
Math - Plusle
You PanDONE - Pancham
and my favorite: ur mum - Gulpin (you know, because Swalot hurhur)

Chesnaught - Whatisthat?!
Squirtle - Anotherwet!
Pidgeot - Drattedbird!
Talonflame - Mybirdbird
Lucario - Usetheforce!
Xerneas - Xexy
Aegislash - Rusty

I nicknamed my Aurorus Little Foot and my Tyranitar Fluffy

Scatterbug= Scatman
Shelmet= Lancelot
Basculin= Randy (Randy Marsh from South Park)
Greninja= Frank (all frogs are called Frank)
Jynx= Helga
Poliwrath= Polly
Jigglypuff= Puffy
Lucario= Luke
Charizard= Rango (lizard)
Pawniard= Iracebeth (Through the looking glass)
Floette= Fleur
Tyrantrum= Dino
Delibird= Nicholas
And of course I trained Quacklin' to the top level

Usually I just base them off other video game characters

Case in point currently I'm making a team based on the 4 Heavenly Knights, as well as Alice and Luka from Monmusu Quest

I saw pokemon origins and after that I nicknamed my charmander Origin in Pokemon X and Y

[color=#9400d3][b] I find myself always naming my pokemon the japanese word of what they look or fight like. So i have Gardevoir name Utsukushii the japanese word for beautiful.

All pokemon caught in Y. I'm sure I have many other nicknames in many other games, but these are near to my heart until the next games release.



Like psbox362, I named my Pikachu (Now Raichu) After Nikola Tesla, though I use the last name and not the first.

I'm pretty sure I had a Luxray that I wonder traded which I named Edison.

My Mewtwo I named Philip after his voice actor in Pokemon the first movie, Philip Bartlett.

My Sableye I just named Gemmy. Unimaginative, I know. I felt he needed at least some kind of nickname seeing as he's one of my favorites.

My Abomasnow I named Obama because I accidentally called it that as I was catching it.

My Charizard is Flammen.

My Yveltal I named Jacques after Jontrons bird.

I'd say this is a pretty solid name.

Fuck, I got an Antidote.
Fuck, I caught a Taillow!
Fuck, I put the Antidote into the Items bag.

I sometimes name them after users I know.

To really be a moron name your pokemon 'to Hell'

Depends on if I feel like naming them.

For some reason I always catch any magikarp I come across and name them "Moist". It fits yet it confuses me.
