My pokemon wouldn't level up fast then, assuming there's a box of twinkies no more than 30 steps away from me in my kitchen.

Ahaha, or perhaps one dangling from a string that you can never quite reach? I know I'm incredibly out of shape and obese to boot, but it isn't that I don't mind exercising. I used to do it, but I'm just really lazy nowadays.

Anyway, does anyone remember how crappy the selection of Fire Pokemon was in Gold and Silver? I stupidly only play with Pokemon in the respected Generation I'm playing, so I bring it on myself. I won't pick up first, third or fourth gens. That really doesn't leave a lot of options. Typlosion is eh, Magcargo is worse. Really only leaves Houndoom, which I always thought was okay, and Ho-oh of course.

Now that I think about it, it seems like Fire Pokemon are always few and far between. Everyone hate Fire Pokemon or what? >.<

Fire tier pokemon:

Uber:Ho-oh

Overused:Heatran
infernape

Underused and Neverused:
Every other single fire pokemon

Well I never play competitively so I have this otherwise "childish" system of choosing Pokemon based on Types first and then trying to get the best Pokemon to fit the bill. I always have a Grass, Fire and Water on my team. And usually the other three fit the rest of the bill with other favorites like Psychic, Dragon, Dark, etc...

Tyranitar + Garchomp is so dirty.

Tyranitar is one of the strongest normal pokemon in the game plus it has sandstorm which does extra dmg. That thing is evil in a 2v2 match.

Ah, yeah, Garchomp was the shit. I totally never did any research into Diamond and Pearl before I bought it and caught a Gible just because I felt like. "Oh it's a Dragon type? Awesome."

Many hours later...

"Holy crap! This is like one of the best Dragons ever!"

Yes, Tyranitar's ability is sandstorm. It summons a sandstorm when he is brought out. It does 6% damage to all non rock, ground, and steel pokemon.

Garchomps ability is Sand Veil. It raises it's evasion by 20% in a sandstorm.

Only 4 non legendary pokemon have a 600 base stat and that's dragonite, tyranitar, salamance, and garchomp.

So there are wicked powerful. Just as strong as some legendary pokemon.

Also sandstorm raises rock pokemon special defense 50%.

They are truly a fearsome pair.

But metagross is legendary. Also yeah I guess tryanitar is ahead of dragonite and garchomp, but salamance has intimidate to cut the opponents attack, but tyra is still better.

Really? I think they were listed as Rare, or maybe Uncommon, but either way I never had too much trouble finding one. That sounds like a bout of bad luck.
