This is probably the first Kickstarter that I really got interested in. They really have some wonderful talents in their team, Even NOBUO UEMATSU himself is the Lead composer.

Oh wow that's an all star team they got there. It's especially cool that they're "volunteering" their skills. If I had money to throw around I'd definitely donate.

OOOH THE HYPE.
I checked out the battle music. This is epic, seriously.
According to their video, it's like they're announcing the best J-RPG that has ever existed, but at the same time it still remains a kick starter project.
They've set 1.6M as the final goal. I don't know how much will be poured into this game aside from donations but all of this seems really ambitious, especially for someone making his first game as a director.

I'm oddly skeptical. How does the team communicate anyways? Is everyone bilingual or something?
Well, this will probably be good but the mixing of Eastern and Western talents is.... unusual? I'll need to see more of the game before I can give a solid opinion.

Platforms: Mainly for Windows, Mac and Linux via Steam and our website. iOS and Android will have a different version to the PC counterparts due to limitations.
We are also working to have the game released on PlayStation 4 and other platforms but is yet to be confirmed.

Well, it caught my attention. Hopefully it turns out to be a solid jrpg as the current ones have failed to impress.

As expected Kai post it earlier. I have to say that I'm super excited about this project and will pledge some serious $ (don't take it seriously) as soon as my salary is paid.
Damn gotta envy those real hard core serious pledge too bad I just don't have the money.

Somewhat an update a message from Nobuo Uematsu
(looks like the BBcode for youtube is broken)
So, he's basically saying that he hopes that the project to reach to the 1.65m goal, since that's the only goal that has the Uematsu X Eminence X Kurlander Colab.

Jesus, they are at 400k already? Well, that 120 pack seems kinda tempting... I do like physical copies of games.
Damn, 3 people dropped a 10k pledge.

This entire project seems incredibly interesting. Barely 4 days have passed and they've received 480K. There's no doubt at this rate they'll reach their 1.7Mil goal.
Now while a part of my being screams "Noooooooo! Not RTS!", another part of me simply nods in agreement of how the game is actually played. As long as I don't manage more than 5 people I suppose I can stay interested. I've never had a good time playing any form of RTS as I've struggled with controlling 50 different things at once. But as I see it, the only thing I'll be managing is a small party, and will not have to worry about upgrading buildings etc. So I'm interested very much, those reward tiers are so damned nice.
I actually found a few parts of the project page incredibly funny.
--USD100,000 is definitely not enough to create a video game. However, as each of our members are professionals in their own field, they do not require a salary right now--
--Why is Ruffles called Ruffles?
A lot of people have asked this already, much to our surprise. We just figured she's really cute, and 'Ruffles' seemed to fit.

You know this whole kick-starter thing for Project Phoenix begs for the question, "How are JRPGs in decline exactly?" I think the game companies been doing just fine, all except for SquareEnix.

It has been decline according to many at least. As far as I'm concerned, the last J-RPG that blew my mind was released well over 10 years ago.

And lol, some butthurt when both the interviewer and Yura Hiroaki agrees that English anime dubs are horrible.. LOL (the comments)

LOL (the comments)I think I mentioned this before in another thread, but there is a BIG following for English voice actors here. Yes, big time butt hurt if you say things like Vic Mignogna (full metal alchemist) is terrible. He's a cool guy though.
Oh man, and those comments... Long posts chains, but only one of them sums up the state of the industry.
Disgaea's dubs are considered decent?

Yeah, but getting butthurt when the interviewer was mostly focused on the whole voice acting industry not taking shots at the voice actors. It's undeniable that Japan takes voice acting more serious than the US does, since most Japanese voice actors have Voice acting as their full-time jobs.
