Street Fighter 4?

I'm a huge fan of the street fighter series but I find myself to be one of the very few who were disappointed by street fighter iv (not the super version since it's not out). Anybody else feel the same way?For those of you who can't possibly understand why I'm disappointed I'll make a list of what I didn't like in no specific order.
1.Absence of Dee Jay and T Hawk(I know that there going to be in super)
2.Quality of anime cut scenes.( I would have rather have the in game cut scenes like when you fight your rival)
3.Dislike of most songs.( I found the best ones to be the remixed versions of classics that appear only when you fight your rival in arcade mode)
4.Sagat is really over powered and Vega(claw) is really underpowered.(I don't really struggle against sagat but tons of people do. Vega was always op but they nerfed him way too much. Overall though this game is still pretty balanced)
5.Online wasn't the best it could be.(I realize super will improve online play)
6.Not enough stages.(Street fighter 2 had a stage for every fighter. I don't even count the training stage or night stages in street fighter iv)
7.No pre fight animations(cut scenes?).(An example of this would be when rivals Ryu and Ken rough house a bit when right before they fight in street fighter alpha 3. Another example would be how Vega(claw) takes off his mask and bows whenever he fights a girl in Capcom Vs Snk 2)
That's all that comes to mind at the moment. I'm sure I forgot to mention a thing or too. Please bare in mind that I never said I disliked the game. I simply feel disappointed that this street fighter didn't meet my bar of expectations which were set by past games. Kind of like when Street Fighter 3 lacked a significant amount of street fighter 2 fighters.( I feel Guile, Zangief, Blanka, Dhalsim, and E Honda should have been there...HOW COULD YOU NOT INCLUDE ZANGIEF AND EVEN MORE SO GUILE!!!)
street fighter III: third strike didn't include most except for chunli and the shoto characters, but i feel that most of its cast were pretty solid characters such as yun, makoto, urien and the rest. while sfiv's saving/focus attack was nice it woulkd have been great if they could have kept the parry system from street fighter III. anyway i do agree with point number 7. pre fight animations such as balrog's(Claw) from CvS2 you mentioned would have been a nice addition. speaking of claw, i hear he's getting buffed in super street fighter iv while sagat is getting nerfed (stamina an dp damage have been reduced) also chun li's getting her Third Strike Kikosho Super Art, badass!. and most of if not all characters are getting proper stages in super. i realy, really disliked the indestructible theme from street fighter iv, which thankfully wont be in super *phew* and hopefully bring back character theme songs.
update: here's a video of 30 new ultra combos from SSFIV by PaulieTheBoss, enjoy.
also, new street fighter iv te stick with locking mechanism, fuck yes!

There no need to nerf sagat his stamina is fine, just lower his power a little bit, here's a listing of current power of SF4 characters

lots of complaints about sagat, and not one about say... akuma.
still say parries don't need to come back, FADC is good enough as it is.
might pick up one of those sticks... dunno. would only want it to mod it, lol.

Lulz I think we can all agree that Sagat is OP(although I have never lost to him.Lulz Sagat users are so impatient to throw their uppercuts and knees...) does anybody agree with the other things I pointed out? Or am I just crazy? If you ask me the original arcade version was a demo the console version was a beta and super street fighter should have been the console version. Again my expectations simply come from past games in the series. Oh and I think Ken is very balanced in the console. I don't get why everybody complains that he's cheap...Amen to that. Always with the knees and the uppercuts and the tiger destructions. Kens not cheap just annyoing to beat someone who plays as him

seriously, that sagat needs the nerfstick badly. now behold, his alpha 3 super taunt at 3:32. thank god, because sagat didnt have nearly enough tools already. now surely this will be fair, what with his seemingly invincible frames on the move's startup.
here it is:
Dhalsim's new Ultra combo = epic lulz

Another thing I didn't like was that Saget is no longer a badass. His scar doesn't glow and he's missing his chuckle. His laugh is no longer badass either...Oh wait i saw his taunt so I guess it's gonna glow in super...

Need a god damn PC release date for this. When Capcom wants something to be "definitive", it takes too much time.

I dont know why, but in every Street Fighter games Ive ever owned, Ken always kills me. Its like I kick his ass and RIGHT before the last hit he turns into a god and pummels me DBZ style. I hate him, but I cant say hes cheap, just a dick.
Im looking forward to the Karate chick.

It's sad how this game won fighting game of the year considering how it fails on many aspects compared to older games of the series. I've yet to see any reviewers even compare this game to past games. Blazblue or hell even Tekken 6 should have won that award. Not because there more fun or anything but because they lived up to past games. Blazblue had that guilty gear feel and has the best 2d graphics in a fighter game to boot. Tekken 6 while it failed online(before they patched now its good) and had a sucky ass campaign mode(which none of the tekken fans even looked forward too) still meet fans expectations. Have you seen Tekken 6 roster? You don't even have to unlock them. At first I was going to preorder Super as soon as I could but now I'm hesitant. Have you seen some of the new ultras? They look downright stupid. Akuma's new ultra is stupid. Why not just remake one of his past bad ass certified specials? Like the one in street fighter 3 where he does that move where he hits the ground? Or better yet the one akuma had in capcom vs snk 2 where he teleported off the screen and the stricked down from above?(I almost shit my pants when I saw that for the firt time)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG8--UlPjSg
Not the best quality vids but the first ones i found. For those of you who haven't played capcom vs snk2 the 2nd video may be a bit too fast for your eyes to follow.(then again if you haven't played capcom v snk 2 then street fighter 4 is likely your first street fighter and in that case you wont for a second consider super to be stupid in any way due to your fanboyism. Even if the criticism comes from a hardcore fan like me) Don't even get me started on the other specials. It's a shame because I was VERY impressed with most of the ultras in street fighter iv(most of them anyways). They were faithful to past specials and in some cases downright awesome!(Cammy's ultra for one...). As soon as I saw Akuma's new ultra I canceled my pre order(which I paid in full). It's one thing to not live up to my so called "unrealistic" expectations but when you make specials that just don't look or feel right...that's were I draw the line. Specials are a HUGE part of the battle. They can be utterly useless(like claws) but if they look cool we live with it. Not all of the new ultras are FAIL mind you...but every time I see one of those eye sore specials I know I'm going to groan in disgust and I simply won't feel like playing any more. I could go on but this has turned into a rant. I have suddenly realized that I'm pissed. When I paid off my preorder(mind you I RARELY preorder a game or get it when it comes out due to a tight budget) I kinda knew that there was a chance this game would fail in something really important that even Street Fighter IV didn't mess up in. What's next? Is one of the new fighters going to be Oro instead of Ibuki, Makato, Dudley, or hell even Alex, or Remy?

here's another glitch using the same mechanics that allow armor canceling and focus taunting.
YeB has put together a tutorial video showing off Gen's glitch parry in Street Fighter IV
Here's an explanation:
So, this glitch is basically an extension of the old focus taunt glitch. The reason that glitch works (I think) is because you can kara cancel the focus into any move with greater input priority. The problem is that almost nothing takes priority over a focus - if you try to do an ultra at the same time as a focus, the focus will come out. Taunting is the only move that most characters have access to.
Gen has something unique though. Stance changing seems to have more input priority than even taunts, so kara canceling a focus into a stance change works. Stance changing has very fast recovery, making it practical.
It's not quite as hard as it sounds. The difficult part is timing the focus to absorb the instant you hit the buttons; stance changing during the absorb animation is relatively easy when you time the first part right. It doesn't need to be on consecutive frames like a kara throw or anything.
Everything in the video was done without macros or shortcuts of any kind.

Aside from "LOL THE ULTRAS DON'T LOOK COOL", care to explain this statement? I'm especially interested in how SFIV "fails" in comparison to CvS2, a game that had it's own fair share stupid stuff.
...In any case, regarding that Yeb discovery, it's quite interesting, too bad it's kinda late to see if its practical or game breaking or not... I'd be surprised if that Gen glitch makes it into Super though, seeing as Capcom is listening and paying close attention to stuff this time around.

I'm also disappointed at this game, probably because Dimps took over it and messed with the game, but that's not the point; I sometimes play it at a friends house, but it's a meh game for me. Still playing ST and 3s.

hopefully this post doesn't go on too long...i really do wish they implemented blog entries on the site. anyway here's an interesting find i came across today; it seems Azrael translated the latest Nakky blog entry.
There isn't that much that's too exciting , but she mentions there will be a big announcement this coming Tuesday (1/26).
First is the character page on the official site! For the newcomers in Super Street Fighter 4 like T.Hawk and Guy, but also for the returning Street Fighter 4 cast as well, for 21 of them under the "Characters" page we have movies up of their Ultra I and Ultra II!
Shiozawa's personal favorites are Balrog's/Bison's "Dirty Bull", Cody's "Last Dread Dust", and Ken's "foot storm Guren"! Within the Capcom offices, Rufus's "Big Bam Typhoon" is a big hit!

we will continue to update it so keep an eye out for them.
Second, the National Tournament dedicated page! There you'll find the results for the 1st Kanto Qualifier that took place at Taito Station Takadanobaba last Saturday! There are 9 qualifiers in total, to try and post about them on this blog... so that's why the Results Page will be updated every Tuesday with new results!
... Having said that, please let me write a little bit about it here. Thanks to the efforts of the tournament organizers and the arcade staff, our 44 registered teams were able to get pumped up, and the fans who came to watch also got into it, so it was a great time! Everyone, thank you very much!

The winners were the "Lettuce Sandwich" team of Kyabetu, Shiro, and Ojisanboy. In the final round against the team of "Mahou Shojo Zangitan's Challenge! Chapter - National Tournament", both team anchors, Ojisanboy and Mahou Shojo Zangitan clashed to decide it all! Ojisanboy kept his cool - my heart was probably beating twice as fast as his. And with this, the "Lettuce Sandwich" team advances to the stage of the National Tournament! Congratulations!
Next up is the Touhoku Qualifier! As you can see on the Results page, there'll be Mago, Tokido, and Akimo, and plenty of other interesting teams sure to shake things up! Let's all head to Sendai!
Third - an update of the mobile site! Not the mobile site for the arcade version, but a site within Capcom just for Super Street Fighter 4! Check it out! (JAPANESE phone only.)
We've got an introduction to the game systems, and the latest news, as well as the newest promotional videos, and you'll also be able to view videos of characters Ultra I and II together with the update of the official site on 1/26! Mobile sites these days have become really incredible!
Also, for newcomers who may not be familiar with the Street Fighter series, we want you to know all about them, so there are pages introducing the previous titles from Street Fighter I up to Street Fighter 4!

And of course, we'll have special limited edition wallpapers, so be sure so save it to your bookmarks and check back often.
Well then, last for today is to tell you that this blog is going to have a special update! Tuesday is usually the day for the Dev Blog to update... but not this time! On Tues, 1/26, this little Nakky Blog will be doing the updating! ... Which means that as soon as I finish this entry, I have to write the 1/26 entry as soon as possible.
Why will I be updating on the 26th? There's no other reason of course - I've got a big announcement!

・・・I deliberately blurred.
The official site will also be updating on the 26th, so don't miss it! There will be new images to look forward to as well.
(*The Dev Blog will be taking a break on 1/26)
... Aaaaaaand that's my 4 news bites to close out this entry! See you all next Tuesday.
(Or maybe at the Touhoku Qualifiers?) .....whew, And that is everything! this information will be of interest to the lot of you i hope.
