Namco X Capcom back in the early 2000s for the PS2. Was played like Super Robot Wars. Looked great, but never released outside of Japan.

What I was referring to was that they would release a later version of the game and make you pay full price for it. Think MVC3 and six months later come out with UMVC3 (which isn't a patch but a whole seperate game you would have to PAY for) because MvC3 was a rushed product.

Good thing I hesitated to buy it. Y'see, this is why people pirate stuff.

Why are people hating this game just because of the whole debacle of the DLC content already on disc and the whole Xbox Online problem?
Have any of you guys that are bashing it even played it yet?
In my opinion, it's a GOOD game. You really can't play this game like you can play SSFIV due to the fact that fireball zoning are pretty much obsolete and there's a lot of footies going on instead of fireball wars and just getting beat out by random hits and SSFIV shenanigans. If I could put into words, it's like CvS2 with Tekken-like juggles and tag outs.
With this game not even a week old yet, there's a lot that people have found within the SFxTK mechanics, like doing dash-canceling combos and high damage combos off of some crazy stuff, and it'll evolve more with more time.
For the most part, the DLC and Online Pairing incident is ruining a good game's reputation. The game hasn't even been out for a week yet. Give it some room to breath. Yes, I do agree that it's unfortunate that there's DLC that's already on the game, and I really felt pissed off when I first learned about it. But, putting more time into this game has made me realize that this game is fun.
I know that the situation looks bad right now, but in my opinion, people shouldn't just bash and neglect this game just because of this. Just give it a try. I find it a lot more fun than SSFIV or MvC3 combined, even with the total hours I've played both of those games.
But, if you played the game and still dislike it, that's fine, you could always sell it.
To reiterate, don't really bash this game because of stuff that doesn't break this game.
Disappointed to know that the DLC is there and it exists? yes, a little bit.
Disappointed with this game? No. It's a fun game that reminds me of the games that I used to play back in the late 90's, early 2000's. Fighting games where it meant to play at the highest level possible, and one small mistake can lose you the match. No more comebacks because of Ultras or X-Factor. Just good, clean fighting.
TL;DR - Just don't dislike the game because of something like DLC or no pairing on a particular console. Give it a chance.
That and XMvC3 was de-confirmed by Sven, one of Capcom's highest CEOs. It's a hoax.

It's not about the game, the game is actually good. But the whole capcom is the problem.
If you watched Angry Joe's "rant", he basically says like this "I want to play the game, the game is good, But I don't want to support the way Capcom is treating their customers with their business model."
So, it's not about the gameplay or the game, but the business itself. PS Vita owners got all their characters For Free with the same price, but PS3/360 owners must pay for something that is already in the disc. Meaning they would spend more than $60 for something already in the disc.
DLC is supposed to be Downloadable Content, not "Disc Locked Content". LOL

Honestly, I don't care about the DLC being on the disc. MK9 had it, Blazblue had some of the data on disc, Soul Calibur IV had the same issue. I'm just bitter that I have to wait until Fall to play as Elena and Cody.

VITA got all of them for $40, you get them for $60 + more for something that you already bought.
Basically your supporting a foul business model, and since you're being ignorant and will pay anyway will make Capcom continue the use of this model. IF you like getting scammed then I hope you run out of money faster than Capcom releasing a newer version of SxT.
Try Watching Angry Joe's Video first.

Food for thought
[spoil]
Capcom is being run by a bunch of outdated suits who have no place in the industry, and if they keep at this pace, I’m hoping they run headfirst and neck-second into the ground. That way what few IPs they actually have left that deserve good treatment could hopefully find it. I’m all for Cyber Connect 2 taking over Legends 3, or Nintendo as a whole adopting the Mega Man IP. Let some other company take over Street Fighter.
They have no right being Developers, and they certainly don’t deserve being able to publish anything, and its such a shame that CC2 and Asura’s Wrath is being published by Capcom instead of someone else.
As for what you do? What can we do? For every one of us who doesn’t buy these games, who doesn’t support them. There is at least fifty mindless gits or just unknowing innocents who pay for this, DLC and EX editions and all. Heck, it almost pushes me into “Pro-Piracy” for these games. Almost. Instead, best I can say is subvert new sales by paying for used copies, but then you run into the bullshit “Online DLC” you have to pay for.
And yes Joe, not being able to local co-op online is exactly what you said. Mortal Kombat isn’t even the first game to do it! Halo 3 had the ability to let multiple local players play online (sharing an account name with a number next to it) and so have several other games. But here’s the thing, what does Capcom get out of that? Two people playing on one game that’s what! They are furious at the idea of that, since that just means one person paid for it instead of two like they want. That’s at least around a 50% decrease in profit from those two individuals!
And here’s a thought. We got Raccoon City and Resident Evil 6 in our futures, immediate or not. Just imagine the bullshit they are going to try and pull with those. And while RE 6 might be a bit harder to imagine. The naturally online environment that Raccoon City has just FOSTERS this kind of bullshit behavior.

You said why they do this. They don’t care. Its why Keiji Inafune left, its why Mega Man as a whole has been drowned out under a sea of Capcom-trolling and “Lul Badbox Mega Dude is fine!” crap we’ve seen. It’s why they continuously try to pull the wool over our eyes and rob us ten ways to Japan’s yesterday.Capcom is being run by a bunch of outdated suits who have no place in the industry, and if they keep at this pace, I’m hoping they run headfirst and neck-second into the ground. I've seen Angry Joe's stuff before and sometimes he just comes off to me as a blind hater. He does make some good points but I'm honestly more like this guy.
Maximillion pretty much got a deal with Capcom to give people previews about fighters, but I feel exactly the same way about this situation as he does.

I'd actually have to look at the laws for this to double check and correct me if I'm wrong but technically you're paying for a license to play a game with certain features on it, right? If something is on it and not readily available then, you're not paying for access to that feature. Doesn't have to be DLC but access to things such as BGM, 3D models/sprites or whatever. But both of the videos posted talked about hackers having access to the additional characters; I'm not sure what the law says about that though.
However, it is incorrect to call content already on the disc DLC. And yes, I am also pissed off about this. Screw this business model.
Slightly on topic-ish, was Namco ever going to make a TxSF game with more of a Tekken engine or did I dream that?

If I remember correctly on Fighters Generation, Namco Bandai has announced that they will do that.
Apparently, they're even letting people vote for which characters are gonna be in the game on their FaceBook page.
