nice miakis, but where's yuber?Didn't really like Yuber's incarnation in Suikoden 3.
Also, he really handed my ass to me on a platter late in the game...

I would just like to say the openings of Suikoden III and Suiko Gaidens are awesome.
Yeah Suikoden II is still my favorite.
I replayed that for a lot of times already.
Tried all the routes in the game. I tried to see what happens when you recruit Chuchara or Boris.
That's probably because Murayama, the creator of Suikoden, left Konami after Suikoden III. Suikoden V is good but at the back of my mind I feel like it's not really Suikoden that I'm playing. Hope we get to see what's with Yuber and Pesmerga.
Suikoden III is great. One thing really bad about it though, is it's slow.
You'll find yourself walking a lot. You even get Viki's teleportaion near the end of the game.
lol, that happens because the naming kunda got screwed-up in suikoden 2 for McDohl
If you named him Tir in Suikoden 1, he will be TcDohl...
so naming him an "M" us better. lol
What I did is I named the character in the first Suikoden as "tir" with a small T.
That way, the character in Suikoden II would still be named McDohl.
What sucks is when you load your Suikoden II data to Suikoden III, in some of the plays and books McDohl will be called "McDohl McDohl" because it treats McDohl as the character's firstname.
Also for those interested...
There is a way to transfer the Suikoden II save made using an emulator to Suikoden III (PS2). You use Ulaunchelf.

I almost lost hope for Suikoden when IV came out...and was pretty fail. Good ideas mashed with horrible character development and graphics and bland story. Suikoden has always been a great story! The fact that they managed to fuck THAT up in IV made me almost lose hope. Then V came out, which still wasn't to my usual expectations, but it was a shitload better than IV, so my hope still rings out that Suikoden will continue, and won't wane in it's epicness. My brother played Suikoden I and II...gave them to me...I played and beat them both, then beat III, which was probably the best one in my opinion, then beat IV, cried a bit, beat V, and saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope they keep going...I love me some Suikoden. That's probably because Murayama, the creator of Suikoden, left Konami after Suikoden III. Hmm this got me thinking what makes suikoden games suikoden games :P, for me it must have the following
1)Runes obviously :P
2)108 stars of destiny
3)War between empires

And the backgrounds are usually earthy or neutral colors which really made the graphics bland for me as compared to the lively colored sprites of I and II.

So do I. And they didn't give us Pesmerga in 3 which is pretty disappointing. And they said Pesmerga was a dog in Suikoden 3. Try guessing which dog.
Lol at Pesmerga from Suiko 1 image, he's much more better looking in Suiko 2.

Kogoro (the black dog), right?
Wasn't that made up by fans?

I'm playing suik 1 now. I've told that its better than ff so I would love to see why. 1 isn't really grabbing my attention though.
Also I would like to say I fucking hate that fucking wheel of bullshit.

- suikoden 1 was pretty meh and I only forced myself to finish it to get the save file + know the story so I could play the 2nd game
- suikoden 2 improved on all aspects of the first and you didn't need a goddamn rune in order to sprint (that was so fucking retarded).
2 probably has the best music
and the best intro
in all the series. The first half of the game was fun and captivating to play and had one of the most badass "evil" guys of any video game series I've played, Luca Blight. The second half of the game was sadly destroyed to me due to one of the dumbest plot twists I've ever seen. (I bet the fanboys will rage at me for saying that).
- suikoden 3 improved a few things here and there again, adding "skills" to each character that you could customize and level up. The game had only 2 major problems;
1. you reached the potch cap WAYYYYYYYYY too fast and thus, ended up wasting money a lot of time.
2. Unable to transfer skill points to other characters. Once you maxed out skills for one character, he'd just end up accumulating them endlessly and they'd never serve any purpose (this was thankfully fixed in suikoden 5)
- suikoden 4 isn't as bad as people say but there are better games out there. They took out the skill system for I dunno what reason and added lame, boring boat travels.
- suikoden 5 couldn't bring myself to finish it.

goddammit... I spent 2 hours for obtaining Full Color OP Suikoden II (via 108 fights when the Unicorn Brigade was attacked by Luca). Well that's worthy enough~~

Well sorry to tell u but that hope is shattered by Konami announcement that most of Suikoden staff has left Konami and this action has push Konami into needing other company to develop RPG for them.(Tri-Ace)

yea, well thankfully, i don't have to http://www.youtube.com/user/FREDRlK#p/p
That guy made a play list of all the cutscenes of s5 and edited out all the fighting, so it's like watching a movie. I didn't see anything in there that made me regret getting rid of my copy of s5.

it's IMO as good as Suikoden 2,like I said, the plot twist halfway through suikoden 2 destroyed the game for me. And suikoden 5 killed my interest in the series. Hell, after playing the 5th, I actually appreciated suiko 4 more then before.
