Say..don't you agree that Normal Blasta theme (Close Game Life) is better than the upgraded one (The Unbreakable)? Can't really say which one is better, since both are catchy and fit for each form. But I think The Unbreakable really suits the powered up LiBrasta, it also has a nice vibe like Altairlion's theme. This theme accompanied with LiBrasta B's shooting pew pew pew is a nice combination.
By the way I just cleared stage 56 here. This stage is a nice place to grind for money. I think I've got over a million here. Too bad the you'd have to face the never-ending spawning enemies (Gaga) using units with high mobility and evasion since they have high accuracy and will blow up if their attack hits.
Enemies from stage 50 onwards seem to have insane hit rates, they even managed to hit Orguss with its mobility maxed. Thank god I have Basara to buff my squad, TRY AGAIN really. really helps.
Spoiler of what I've caught so far on the story.

I see. I changed the song back to The Unbreakable for now. Maybe I'll use some other songs from the originals. Lol.
I'm still at stage 53. Pounding my self up to get the SR points on the final stages. So I had to repeat the stage over and over again + collage has already started and I barely have enough time to play. Lol
Thank god I added Mobility on the PP upgrades. I didn't get any PP skill because I had a bad feeling. Turns out I was right. Lol. and my Blasta, Nu Gundam, Zeta, Nirvash, Tetsujin, and BlastaEs (all of them are fully upgraded and have almost 300 until 350 evasion and hit rates) never gets hit. well, sometimes they get hit but that's when they had to fight a boss. Lol.
as for me, this is what I got the story so far.
Spoiler:
Out of the serious stuff, Dancouga and Dancouga Nova's combi attack are just wow. Maybe Banpresto had to buy the license (or make a deal with the creators) for them just to make that final attack. My friends were shocked when looking at that attack, especially the brofist. lolololol.
Too bad God Gravion Sigma doesn't get the Nageki No Rosario theme song. if they did then it would be epic. lol.
Also, too bad Zeta Gundam's theme didn't change when he used the strongest attack.
lastly, Y U SHIN DRAGON TURNED IN TO A BATTLE SHIP?!?! Atleast he won't be eating any deploy slots. lol
oh yeah, Do shin getter and shin dragon has a combi attack?

Didn't spare some PPs for helpful skills like Morale+ Bonus, Continuous Action, or Spiritual Fortitude? Those are handy, especially in late games.
And yea, I feel that upgrading pilots' defense/evasion stats really helps a lot but even then, I still have to use spirit commands to defend against bosses. Damn bosses for having insanely high hit rates. This game really loves adding "The Extreme", "Genius" and "Prevail" to bosses' skills.

I wonder why Dancou Sougaken didn't have a dramatic cut-in with calligraphy like Final Dancou Kougaken has. I feel it'd be cooler if it has it on as Shinobu and Aoi recite the mantra for their Dancou sword, Otherwise it's a really cool attack, complete with brofist and new portrait for Shinobu and Aoi.
Yes, too bad some music for strongest attack aren't included, like Stoner Sunshine theme for Getter too as example.
Shin Dragon still eats deployment slot for battleships though, though I don't think it'd be a big problem at least you can give SP Regen and SP+ to the subpilots, unlike the other ships. And yes, Shin Getter and Shin Dragon have Final Getter Tomahawk and Shin Shine Spark as team attack.

By the way, I just finished my first playthrough here. Normal Difficulty, 32 SR points, got all emblems except the platinum one and got YF-29 Durandal for Alto. Funny, since I kinda neglected Alto until Frontier finale and end up getting the secret unit for him.
I 'll aim for all SR points and If/ZEXIS route on my next playthrough then. Gotta get the secret(true?) ending.

Interesnting. I'll get the Zexis Rute when I'm done with the final stage.
Seriously, on the stages before, I kept using Wall on Super Robots and Focus on Real Robots each turn just to try to keep them alive. Good thing I have Big O for reducing the punishment to 0 when the enemy destroyed one of my mechs. Lol
Now I'm on stage 60. The final stage that is. I have around 54 SR Points and on Hard. I only need 1 more SR points to get the Platinum Badge which gives out a 2x movement/attack per turn.
Durandal is so strong. Stronger than the Tornado pack. The final attack does 25k damage on bosses with Soul attached.
Also the blue Voltoms Scopedog does a maximum of 30k Crit damage on bosses without using Soul. which is I wonder what the hell happened. XD
Shin getter's BonerStoner Sunshine does an avarage 40k damage on bosses with soul. Maybe it's because Ryouma's 170 will + 1.3 damage Ace Bonus.
On the FUN part, Lelouch stayed alive right after he was stabbed. I lol'd when I saw that.
Gunleon's 2nd Magna Mode attack (where he screamed) had a very funny finisher. lolol.
I probably gonna finish the game tomorrow at campus and start my 2nd Super Robot Playthrough. maybe I'll try to get the Zexis Rute without saving shirley. What I can take for now is just that when Heero found out that Lelouch is Zero is the main way to get the Zexis Rute. or maybe not. only 1 way to find out. Lol
EDIT :
Finished my game with glory. at first I though that I'll never get to kill all of the Golden Dimensional Beasts, but in the end, I did destroyed them all in 1 turn(also with the final boss).
here's what I think about the ending.
Spoiler:
Now beginning Gameplay 2. I hope I'll get the ZEXIS rute.

Stage 59 was it? Well I haven't played on hard difficulty yet, but in my playthrough it went smoother than I thought. Reals still dodging well, all reals I used had their mobility maxed and pilots' evade stat pimped, but I still occasionally cast focus or instinct just to be safe from OHK. Supers are... being supers tanking like boss. All armor and defense stat pimped to maximum.
Didn't use Durandal again after Frontier finale. It's a nice unit yes, but for Macross' representative in my squad I picked Basara.
Rabidly Dog deals 30k critical damage without soul is possible though. Did you have Chirico's 'Abnormal Survivor' activated at that time? Not forgetting Chirico got a skill to deal 1.5X damage with critical.
To be fair it seems if you're configuring it right all "main" unit from a series could solo the map and deals a high damage. This kinda reminded me of the first Alpha game.

[spoil]Crowe is the most unluckiest person I've ever met. With all that Fighting he did to save the world, he still have a debt of 1M G. I kinda feel sorry about him, but he really did his job well as a person doing these stuffs just to pay his debt money. XDDD
Now beginning Gameplay 2. I hope I'll get the ZEXIS rute.
Man, is it wrong if I saw Mail's DFC jiggles in the cut-in for Pain Shouter? And unless my eyes are deceiving me, I think Setsuko's chest became more jiggly in the cut-in for The Glory Star.
I don't know the exact point yet but, I think you'll still need to collect those Shirley points to access If/ZEXIS route even if you don't feel like taking Geass' route. Also from what I heard, the surefire to know if you're on the right track is when Zero reveals his identity to Chirico.

One of the best SRW games yet. Although this time I didnt bother Upgrading Shin Mazinger Z (saisaihen) , ;-; I didnt find him really strong at Z2.. I only upgraded the really damaging Super Robots and a few Gundams.
In my playtrough the biggest damage I've done was with Gurren Lagann. 54k (with buffs etc..) with his final attack. I gotta say this SRW is pretty easy. I hate how Wing Zero now uses a ton of EN, he was my Main gundam... I had to stick Sandrock by him every freakin stage so he gets sustain. His AoE map attacks are still GODLY though, even better than Raiser. XD

Hold on, what made you think Mazinger Z wasn't really strong? Because, it's easily one of the strongest supers in the game.
Though I can understand if it's your preference for not using it.
Well, I have to agree that this game is kind of easier than Z1. This game gives you high damage output, lots of gold, PP, and lots of SP for spirit commands. Though to be fair I haven't tried finishing the game on hard difficulty, so who knows?
Just slap GN Drive on Wing Zero then maximize its EN. I never need to refuel it after that. E-Save ability helps too. I also agree that Wing Zero's post-movement MAP is really useful in this game.
By the way, what are everyone using in the last stage? I use:

I guess I kinda left him out on most of the missions.... Then he went weak later in the game. I thought he was going to be Mazinkaiser in Z2 SSH... but then I realized Z2 continued on from Hakaihen... so no Mazinkaiser QQ ;-; (I expected Endless Waltz as well, since they had Seed Destiny.)
You'd be surprised that I didnt even upgrade most of the super robots.... AT ALL.
I Spent it all on Wing Gundam ,Gundam 00 , Seed Gundams and Knightmares roster... (Wing was my childhood gundam...)
The only super robots I did upgrade were

Surprisingly, it gets the job done at the final mission... I feel bad for those other robots I didnt upgrade. XD like Godmars... they were too old school... but if they included my old faves like Daimos, Voltes V or Combattler V, I'd upgrade them. XD

To be fair Shin Mazinger Z-Hen is a different continuity, so no Mazinkaiser there, but hey, at least Mazinger Z now get time to shine after it's been overshadowed by Mazinkaiser for a while, and it comes with cool upgrades too, Big Bang Punch, Rocket Punch 100 Rapid Shots.
I'm also happy they stick with TV version of Wing in this game, also giving it a chance to shine again. For Endless Waltz (LAST IMPRESSION automatically plays in mind), we might get it in the sequel (Z3) if they decided to extend Wing's story.
Real-heavy play, eh? Not really a surprise since this game has a good amount of real units and almost all of them can deal a high amount of damage now.
Fan of Nagahama Trilogy too I see. I'd be also happy if they could include three of them in Z series. Though at this point it seems unlikely, since Z series has been constant in their cast and had a habit debuting new series to SRW or reusing newer series that been included in other SRW before it.

Me too, I'm always trying to get each series covered in my squad for the last stage in every SRW I've ever played. Man, it was fun trying to cram all main units and their supports in Alpha 3 and Z1. But I can't do it in this game since the cast is really... massive, so sadly I had to leave some units out.

True... we've been spoiled too much by Mazinkaiser in recent games, (like SRW W), I maybe I just got used to seeing Mazinkaiser in the series.. XD Z2 was really aimed at making the original cast shine (while adding some new cast).
Just COmmunication and Last Impression is just epic... I cant say the same for Emotion... its kinda MEH~
Wow.. so youre a fan as well? In the gameboy days of SRW, I loved Voltes and Daimos being in the cast in most of the games~ theyre not getting too much love on the newer platforms though.. ;( maybe they forgot all about them..
LAAAAAAAAAAASSSEEEEERR SWOOORRD~ OMG XD Then the awesome theme song.. XD I cant believe I still memorize it.. huehue. XD

Yeah, I've been thinking the same. Ever since we got Mazinkaiser, we kinda getting spoiled into expecting a stronger upgrade for Mazinger Z in every game it's featured in, though Mazinger Z actually is a good unit by itself.
Well, LAST IMPRESSION is good, but I don't understand why they didn't alternate it with WHITE REFLECTION for the theme. Having LAST IMPRESSION as EW units' BGM for about 6 games is kinda... urgh.
Combattler and Voltes had their recent appearance in SRW L though, so I don't think they've totally forgot about them.
By the way, I have a news that the perfect bible for saisei-hen will be released on May 18th, 2012. Let's hope it'll reveal more about some secrets we haven't know about, and giving a real confirmation for if/ZEXIS route.

Mazinger Z is strong from the fact that Kouji's ace bonus gives a bonus of dealing 1.2 damage at 130 morale.
And just to give you an idea. Gigadrillbreaker is 6.8k fully upgraded while Big Bang Fist is 7.1k. Both Arc Gurren and 100 Rocket Fist are both 7400 and having 1 ammo.
Gurren has the advantage of being L size which means it will deal slightly more damage then Mazinger which is M size. However, Because Gigadrillbreaker does not have Ignore size propeties. Which means against 2L or 3L enemies, it will do less damage.
So the very notion of saying Mazinger Z is weaker then Gurren Lagann , is incredibly ridiculous.
As for useability, Mazinger with FUB has a nice EN regeneration M.
Gurren has more seishin for use with Viral as a Sub.
