The red ring of death " Xbox360 problem "

I did once...technically twice but the first time it was from a storm while I was playing, wasn't the actual red ring. Not that big a deal really since you can just send it in and have it repaired/replaced. It's life time warranty for the 3 red rings isn't it?

i did, who hasnt. after the 2nd ring of death i sold my xbox. i know people who have the new xbox , they told me it fails like the fat model rather the a red ring its a red dot, but it happens less often now

Yeah, but not on my own console.
I was at a friend's house playing, whatever it was, and then it just hit. My friend went instant emo.

Didn't they fix that shit a while ago?
It happened to me about 2-3 years ago. Was playing Cod WaW and bam, red rings.
Called up microsoft and told me I need to pay 120 dollars to get it fixed. Fucking ripoff >_>

Experiencing it right now, actually it's been over a year. Don't have the time or money to get it fixed...

I bought a launch 360 from a friend in 2008. I noticed the disc drive started having issues opening (like it would get stuck) so I sold to a friend for $100 (he was aware of the problem) and bought an Arcade 360 in 2010. Been working like a charm for over a year now! =)
Still no red rings!!

[align=center][color=purple]At least a few times, under five though. I like taking care of my things and having red rings aren't really taking care of it.

This was a reason i didn't pick up a xbox, I mean 120 just for a fix..
But is the red ring that frequent? Everyone I know that owned a xbox went through the red ring problem.

YES! i thought they were going to fix the problem with the new skinny model but instead of a ring its a dot, 6 years and microsoft still cant get it right,oh well my member ship finishes in 1 month so im going to take that to my advantage and stay with my playstation because i know that it will never fail me. iv been a member of xbox live since 2007 but it looks like my time is coming to a end. i just lost 300$ on the skinny xbox being that gaystop bought my 07 model for only 40 bucks and those 40 bucks went into paying taxes hopefully i can sell it to somebody in my neighborhood for 300 atleast they will avoid taxes

I got the RROD on my 360 a few years ago. I guess you can say it's lucky, cuz it happened a week before my warranty expired. I called Microsoft and mailed them my 360 for repairs. However, it was beyond saving. So, they sent me a new 360 for free and threw in a 1 month Live trial card with the package. Despite being deprived of my games for a week and a half, I came out of that deal feeling pretty good.

RRoD in last month of 3 year warranty -> free brand new XBOX360 from Microsoft! :)
