why not just let round 1 start and have empty spots? those that sign in will take those.

@Mibu: Because there are and could still be some folks who may want to sign up. There's only 2 spots available, though I'm sure one of them should be taken (referring to the above quote). Plus I'd like things to begin on equal ground this time without anyone getting easy by's. There shouldnt be any of that in a single elim tourny..

I dont know whether you misunderstood my post on purpose or what. What I mean is start the round, create a placeholder that will become a bye only if no one is there to take it. You'll still get 16 and others would have something to do.

Remember, each round has a lasting deadline of one week prior to when the round started. So from now until next Sunday is the First Round. However, rounds will progress much faster if all matches are completed to progress the tournament more smoothly. Be sure to contact your opponents so you can complete your match. Once you have completed, be sure to report the match scores to me directly through a PM. Both you AND your opponent must do this.

P.S. I lol'd because there's about 2 epic matches in the first round.
