Just finished the Hisui Route (in addition to the Arcueid route), and I'm wondering if the two overall branches (Roa arc vs. Mansion arc) make sense with respect to each other. I've got two main questions
1) In the Roa arc, what's the deal with Satsuki Yumizuka? Did she somehow avoid becoming a vampire because Shiki was thinking less about his family?
2) In the Mansion arc, why hasn't Arcueid dealt with Roa yet? It seemed like more time has elapsed than in the Roa arc (I didn't actually check the timestamps) and I think it'd be a fair assumption that Arcueid at full strength would be stronger than empowered Akiha.
If these are actually answered, by the remaining routes, then say as much without spoilers.
EDIT: I thought a little more about it, and I guess one could assume that Arcueid got injured in her conflict with Nqvrsr without Shiki's help, such that she was unable to deal with Roa personally- although wouldn't Ciel still be able to deal with him?

Hm...I'm pretty sure Satsuki never became a vampire in the Roa arc. She was a much more minor character in those arcs. Isn't it sad, Sacchin?
Regarding your second question, visual novels usually don't have arcs that connect with each other. In the mansion route, you can Shiki never actually met Arcueid in the first place, so what happens to her is a mystery regarding the mansion route

Well, visual novels that have plots as intricate as Tsukihime usually don't branch (e.g. Utawererumono).
When they do branch, it's generally dealing with character specific events exclusive to the hero and the heroine of choice- making the plot details of other paths completely irrelevant. Usually there is no antagonist beyond the personal demons which the heroines must deal with.
However, Type-Moon games have plots larger than the two characters most effected. There are literal villians and supporting characters with wills of their own. It makes for a somewhat shallower experience if those factors are completely ignored. Fate/Stay Night has three dramatically different plots, however all the characters and motivations are existing and consistent throughout all storylines; you can really appreciate how the hero's actions create a butterfly effect that spawn dramatically different situations.
I'm just wondering if similar relationships are in place for Tsukihime, or should one imagine that the Mansion paths occur in a world where there is no Arcueid, that Ciel is a normal student, and the loud dogs were just loud dogs and not the spawn of a vempire?

I guess the different in events happened because of the difference in favor given to different heroines by Shiki. In the end they are all link-able, only the events happened is different.
They are split into two major parts, near moon (arcueid + Ciel), and far side of the moon (Tohno Family). The two parts follow a quite different story to see, one focuses on vampire hunting stuff and the other is about Tohno mansion and stuff.
As usual, sifian puts alot of thought into each element of the story....XD

I hate to say this, but I'll believe it when I see it...
More importantly, where's my Sacchin route?

I believe that was confirmed for the remake. That Sacchin is actually getting her own route. Until it actually comes out though, I'm not sure if it's 100% true since you know....It's the internet and all.

Well, they joked about Sacchin getting her own route in Kagetsu Tohya, too.
Really, I hate to repeat myself, but I'll believe it when I see it...

so the torrent links on the first page do they include a translation?I think that they do, as there are no links to a translation site, if they don't it is a quick search for it. Sorry for the vague answer, but honestly has been so long since I played Tsukihime that I don't remember now. Let us know if there is or not.

This thread has made me all nostalgic now. Going to play Tsukihime again now :3
I think Arcueid didnt fight Roa, since he wasnt dominant in his host body and it was SHIKI who was in control. but that may just be me - the other explanations could work too

Is it just me, or does Tohno seem like a bit of a dick during the sex scenes? (Heroine going 'hnng...stop!' or whatnot and he's like TAKE IT ALL!)
