Same here except I obtained it from another source. I still play it since it's pretty good considering when it was made.

So, my first eroge was "I'm Gonna Serve You 4". Just played because of the sex scenes because a friend of mine said that they were hot (that was like at least 5 years ago or more). I just skipped through the entire story and read the sex scenes for each character. It was boring like hell to me to skip it.
Then I started reading other eroges (obviously because of the sex scenes skipping the story). But little by little I began to read more and more the story. And then, when I readed all the nukiges that I had (yeah, I only readed them -.-) I tryed "Ever17". I still remember that I made a huge sacrifice just to read one route (it was Tsugumi's by the way) and was tremendously pissed because there wasn't not even one damn sex scene. I was even more pissed when I reached the bad end and the good end of Tsugumi's route. That made me quit the game for a while. When I restarted the game I finished the other routes (sacrificing myself once again) and when I finished Coco's route I was like "Fuckin epic! I'm really stupid for not reading this to the end before.". Ever17 made me open my eyes to the greatness of VNs. Since then, I enjoy them in a different way. I even replayed some nukiges just to read the story lol

A rule of thumb I follow when it comes to reading VN in general. Enjoy the story and its plot. You might not even get a HCG till late in the game or none at all.

Sagara Family. In my opinion, it's the only sex romp VN that has even a semblance of a story or plot; an okay game. Crescendo,the second VN I played, on the other hand was superior to The Sagara Family in all aspects.

Yume Miru Kusuri: great novel and great beginning. That was almost one year ago.
Second one was G-Senjou no Maou in January and after that i understood that i really had to start reading vn more seriously.

Snow Sakura.
i downloaded it believing it would just be a porn game(the small size was a +) but to my pleasant surprise it was a great heart-warming story :). i'm definitely going to replay it when i start the VN marathon(in the coming months).

I forgot the title, I think it was a mini puzzle game, the rewards are pictures of ganguro girls. something-something paradise??? Not sure, I can't really recall. It was incomplete or something, I can't access all pictures. That time, I never knew H-games existed (I thought only H-anime exists) and so, I searched for other H-games. I encountered Sakura no Kisetsu, San Shimai and Nocturnal Illusion.
I also played Viper V16 Rise, It's in Japanese and I'm just blindly clicking. The game is extremely short. The last bihoujo eroge I played was Ecchi na Bunny-san wa Kirai?. I only managed to finish 2 girls... I lent it to my classmate and he didn't return it to me.
Those times, I saw Shiyou Chuu ~W.C.~ from a shady store. I knew it's an eroge, after some days, I went back to the store and it's already gone ^^ hahah.
