When are you going to get an Xbox One or PS4?
When will you get an Xbox One or PS4?

I was wondering if you guys will get the next gen console on release date or wait until there is more info on the console. Personally, i'm going to wait a few months before I decide which console I should get.

When prices drop and I see at least five games that I really want.
I should probably get myself a TV that's not 20-plus years also, so that I actually make use of the fact that everything is HD nowadays.

I was going to get a ps4 at launch, but I have to save up for a new computer. So I'll wait until next year.

I'll be getting the PS4 first and then an Xbox One a little while afterwards. Since PS4 is first I'm going to wait a few months and go into the backlog of PS3 games I need to play because the size of the PS4 has me a bit worried. I'm kind of expecting overheating issues or hardware failure.

I've always gotten most of my consoles on launch and it is usually subject of slight regret. They are expensive, heavy and come with a lackluster set of available games. Not long after their launch, a new version usually comes up... Either way, the PS4, which is the only one I'd want to get, doesn't attract me. No games so far have really gotten my attention and I don't think I'll be dying for a new gaming experience anytime soon. Fallout 4, I presume, is probably the only thing that'd make want a PS4.

I think I'll wait until Titanfall comes out before picking up a Xbox One. It'll give me some time to save up for the console.

I'm getting the Xbone on release day. I just personally prefer it, and my current xbox account works with it.
Though I shall be getting a ps4 shortly after, Drakenguard 3 is coming out and I just learned that a Dynasty Warriors Gundam 4 is in the works (80% done). Just got to wait for them to be serialized out west.

I'm getting a PS4 no question. As for when, depends on when I have the money. I never buy a console at launch.

Neither, consoles are for casuals. You are joking, right?
For the most part no. In this day and age consoles are just dumbed-down PCs with needless limitations on their hardware and software.
The only two genres I can see as being viable for hardcore play on a console are racing and fighting. This wouldn't even be the case if they released more fighting and racing games on the PC where you can use any controller you want to play them.
And please don't say RPGs can be hardcore, they can't, they're designed and developed for a casual audience and take little to no skill or dedication to play. I'm not saying that they aren't enjoyable and that I don't enjoy playing them, but the skill ceiling is just way too low.

If I'm going to buy a new console at all, it'll be a Wii U. And only if there will be a game I really want for it.

RPGs can be "hardcore". Do you even know what casual games/gamers are?

Honestly, the word you're looking for is competitive, not hardcore. Hardcore games are largely defined by how much of a time sink they are, not whether they require mechanical skill.
But an easy rebuttal to your entire argument is Dark Souls, which is classified as a RPG.
OT:FF 15's release date probably marks the moment I suddenly find myself buying a PS4.

Welp, I hope you enjoy fighting battles you can't win, because this argument was over before it began.
Something that requires little skill to play is not viable as a hardcore game and the skill ceiling for RPGs is low enough that a six year old wouldn't have a problem reaching it. Just because you spend a lot of time playing it doesn't make you hardcore. Or what, Are people who spend hours on end playing Bejewled hardcore gamers now too? Please, it's fucking insulting.

I'm not talking about specifications I'm talking about utility. Console operating systems are needlessly limited, consoles have the full hardware capacity to be real computers that can handle a multitude of applications, but they're not and you're an idiot if you buy them.
Back in the day they didn't have the capacity to handle any application and just the games that were designed for them. When they did eventually reach a point where they had the hardware to be fully functional computers companies like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo instead decided to play on that, all in a ploy to reap greater profits, limit your ability to use the hardware thereby giving them greater control over your experience and money. If you seriously still think that consoles are technically viable you're an ignorant sheep who blindly believes and takes part in a greedy scam for control.
Also, don't even try the "lol exclusives" argument, you wouldn't have to buy three different fucking consoles if idiots like you had any semblance of common sense. The only way to change anything is to simply stop whoring yourself out for overpriced scams and supporting the people who employ them.
[size=14]If anyone thinks they can come up with a viable argument against what I've written I'd love to shoot it down.[/h]

Sorry to ruin your argument, but this is a console vs. console poll, not a pc vs. console poll.
