The points were accurate to my knowledge and from my experience, if you really think about it; with the number of people WoW has brought to the MMORPG market, it makes sense that the majority of them have only played WoW.Ofc there's a possibility, but it's still only guesses and assumptions on your part, for all you know all 11 million players might've tried playing some free MMO's prior to starting WoW.

Certainly most of the people I have spoken to answer with something along the lines of "I don't need to try any other game, WoW is enough for me".And how many people might that be? 10? 15? 20? 20 people out of 11 million, not really a vast majority.

WoW is fun for some people, it is the right game for some people, it is not right for me. As for my first comment regarding WoW being utter trash, well: that is what it is to me. I've played WoW as much as I could stand, level 58 - higher than 10, also higher than I ever wanted to go.If you've reached lvl58 then that's well enough to know if you like the game or not, and like i already said, i don't care if you think WoW is shit, but don't try to make it out to be a fact, cuz it ain't, nowhere near.

WoW's community is second to none in terms of size, but whether or not it is the "best overall" community is certainly open to debate based on each player's subjective experience. It did not have the best community for me. I wouldn't view it as a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination.Yes, this is a subjective experience, and sucks that you didn't like it, but i've had some of the best times i've ever had in a game along with the guilds i've been in, and the overall community is usually decent enough, not counting all the capsing 12-years olds.

AC did not have the level of notoriety that WoW does; I doubt most WoW players even know it exists: that is the difference, that is the point I am trying to get across. You can't say that something is better based on how successful it is when those it is competing with are not even given a chance.I can however say it's a better game due to the fact that it is a better game, which you don't agree with, tough luck, but everyone doesn't agree that AC is better.
Now, even if all of those 11 million haven't played AC the fact still remains that there's people who have indeed played both still prefer WoW.
Why? Because they think it's superior, me being one of them.
If the some prefer AC then shit, go for it, not like it's bothering me.

From those I have spoken to regarding AC and WoW, almost invariably they preferred AC.That doesn't really mean much to me seeing as you probably hang around people who all play AC, and think alongside your lines.
If i ask my m8's it'll probably be the opposite, and they tend to play alot of MMO's.

Some liked WoW better, each to your own - if you prefer a simple skill tree, and nice, comfortable recharging skills to a dynamic in-game physics system - then that is your own choice.Just because it's simple doesn't mean it sucks, that's a retarded way of thinking tbh.
Do people feel more l33t if it's more complicated or something?
As long as the gameplay is fluid there shouldn't be any complaints.
I happen to prefer more complex systems, and believe that the more options you have the better. It's not about being "l33t", it's more that you can do more to distinguish yourself from the person next to you. I play my games for my own reasons, and I play MMO's in order to play with other people. However, I don't want to be restricted by class or role in a party. That way it just gets boring.
In my opinion WoW is not a better game than AC, in your opinion it is. I suppose one could argue that what makes a good game is that it is fun and satisfying to play, and if you find WoW fun and satisfying to play then go for it.
I do not find WoW satisfying to play, therefore to me; it is an awful game. That isn't going to change, I don't care how many people play and like WoW. For me it isn't a good game, sadly for me it has been successful and therefore the format has been repeated. From a wholly selfish point of view, I'd like to see more complex games out there.
You never said how much you played AC?

Let's agree to disagree then, this is not going anywhere anyway.

Yeah fair enough, too bad about the AC though :( You might have grown to love it if you had gotten a little higher, real shame is that there wouldn't have been too many people for you to play with back then, the being able to fellow with anyone for equal exp at 50+ really opens doors, I can understand why you quit.

I've had a lot of favorite online games and.. for that matter played quite a few.
The only 'free 2 play' games I've enjoyed have been gunbound and rumble figher.
As for in the MMO department.. that's a hard choice.
(In order of from the earliest to the latest MMO)
(Played a year) My first MMO was Asheron's Call, was an awesome game at the time and had a decent story to back it up along with the character skill customization.
(Played 4+ years)Then came Dark age of Camelot and all.. of it's expansions, had solid gameplay then expansions started messing with the forces that shouldn't of been messed with! Followed by major nerfs and buffs of character classes that made for a caster heavy populance.
(2ish years)I've played WoW for a while and it has been a nice game and has enjoyable aspects. The general community requires a smack.. or a severe beating sometimes.
(1 year) Eve online proved to be a refreshing change of pace, the space combat and travel.. player pirates, no one single 'uber' class or skill with real time training of skills.. not a game for impatient people.
(2 years)Am currently playing City of heroes/Villains, and yes the character customization alone is addicting enough to keep playing, however I believe the game community is steadily becoming smaller.
Yeaaaah.. I can't really say which MMO is the best, they all have their perks and annoyances.. I guess I just play for the sake of playing.
