So, I finally lost my patience and dropped the turreted TDs, restarted yesterday from the T40 and currently I'm running a (almost) fully upgraded Wolverine. I have to say, I never expected to perform so good with the T40, got every Mastery Badge (first 3rd Class, then 2nd, then 1st, then Ace Tanker) one Sniper and one Invader, at least one-two frags per game unless I did donkey-level mistakes, saved one game for the team... well, not bad. X)
Now to grind through the M10 and get the M36, I miss the 90mm.

T40 firing heat is op as fuck. The other top gun for it is pretty awesome too though.
Also, do you watch quickybaby?

All Nerfgun HEAT shells got nerf you know.
They pen now around 90-120mm now. You still ding the KV-1

I used the 76mm M1A1 with regular AP, not the derp howitzer, and it worked wonders.
And yes, I watched some of his videos. The one with the SU-100Y and KV-1S platooning with Jingles made me laugh so hard.
EDIT: Just had epic match with the Wolverine. El Halluf, we were losing badly (me with 1% health after a near-miss from enemy arty, a KV-1, an E-25 and and AMX arty vs the world), there comes a T29, he misses me, I light him on fire, he uses extinguisher, I light him on fire AGAIN and frag him. Then comes a SU-100, I light him on fire too and he was at 11 health when arty kills me. Still lost the match, but it was amazing. :D

Tried this game for a while, and I really liked it. I just got the Beta code for the 360 version, but I have to go and send my 360 in to get fixed from another overheating issue.
Frankly, I'm going with the Russians, for some reason, I'm really liking their tanks.

360 version isn't very comparable to the PC version imo. It's still in beta and lacking quite a bit but whatever floats your boat.
Russian heavies are a great starting point, and the KV-1 is arguably the first "heavy tank" that plays as such, and is quite friendly to play for new players.

I could never do well with the wolverine, and the history repeats with Alecto.... Although it's really more of the case of suicide cults for team members xD

Alecto is an easy carry tank at its own tier with the howitzers, I only used the 3.7" though, it's travel time and possible firing arc (over hills in arcade mode) made it a really fast spg XD. I haven't touched the other line of american TD's so I went T49 and that thing was beast.
Also, just got myself the amx 12t, holy shit that thing is fun. I had the worst time ever with the elc amx so this is a breath of fresh air knowing the rest of the tanks in this line will only be improvements.

I used the AP cannon alecto lol.
And Hated the amx 12t but liked elc amx. Be warned amx 13 75 is more of the same and you're facing tougher tanks with few more shells and no other upgrades whatsoever.
Amx 13 90 is where the light tank line stop being made of pure fail cuz you actually have some pen there.
I suspect WG made the french line just for the lulz to watch people suffer.

I've done my research, I'm gonna have to fire some apcr against tier 10 tanks with the 13 75 but even against tier 9's 144mm of pen can run through most tank's from the sides or back, 202mm of pen with apcr is acceptable on a light flanking tank.
The sluggishness of the 12t is both a blessing and a curse, as where tanks like the cromwell seem to go too fast for me, and I'm always lulled into getting into situations I can't get out of, but the 12t urges me more to plan my runs. The french autoloaders are quite rewarding and just pure fun imo, but the 12t is incredibly team dependent. If you get steamrolled all you can do is just run and keep dumping out damage til you die.

I come from the console world. It's still in beta so the tank selection is limited, but once it goes to full game, what tanks are most similar style wise, but better than the Pz.Kpfw. 38 (t) n.A.?
In the beta it is the fastest tank available, and while it doesn't pack a punch, it's fun zig-zagging through enemies and taking out the SPG's. Hell I can even take out medium tanks pretty easily, just gotta avoid the heavys, ten shots from above only does half health of damage.

I was wondering, what do you guys think about the new Chinese premium medium tank, the T-34-3?
Stat-wise (and appearance-wise) it is kinda like a slightly watered-down Type 59: it's 6 km/h slower, has same engine with better power/weight ratio, has same traverse speed (both turret and tank traverse), has slightly less armor (190/120/60 for the turret and 90/50/50 for the chassis - UFP is sloped at over 60 degrees) and mounts a IS-ish 122mm cannon that can fire HEAT gold ammo (base RoF is 4.17 rounds per minute, with 3.4 aiming time and 0.46 accuracy).
In the forums, many complained that this tank is useless - most argued that a heavy tank cannon has no place on a medium tank, and so the whole thing is garbage. It also has terribad gun depression (-3 degrees) and, as a Tier 8 tank, has normal matchmaking for now (so it will see Tier 10 matches). It is rather cheap though, at 7500 gold - and it's kinda hilarious to see a medium tank with the gun of a heavy (this) when we had a medium tank with the mobility of a heavy (the Super Pershing).
Now, I'm still a newbie with just over 1600 battles under his belt, but as far as I can tell, this thing should play like a much faster and mobile IS/IS-6: the way I see it, this thing should go support the heavies, flank the brawls and fire at the sides/rear of already engaged enemy tanks, then quickly relocate while it reloads - something that a regular IS can't do, since it's just too slow (and for once I can say this from experience, I do have a IS-6). Also, the improved sigma from the previous patches helps a lot with the accuracy (along with crew skills and modules).
To have a Type 59 has been my wet dream since those damn things curbstomped me to death in more than one match, so while the original will probably never be available again to us mortals, something similar is more than welcome. What say you experts? Did I just make a fool out of myself, or this tank deserves a chance?

T-34-3 looks like a armor/gun buffed version of the T-34-2, at the same tier, with the same notoriously bad gun depression we expect from chinese tanks; as such it should play the same. Same top gun as the T-34-2, and one shouldn't complain about tier 10 games when your heat rounds have 300mm of pen. The tank is fine, if not better than the T-34-2 in almost every way, just a bit slower.

Glad to see someone give a serious answer about this. :)
Yes, I checked the stats and the T-34-3 is pretty much a buffed T-34-2 (it has less horsepower, less power to weight ratio, less radio range and less gun depression, everything else is better). That being said, I never played it, so my opinion on how the T-34-3 should be used was mere speculation. Wiki is however kind enough to provide some tips on how to play it and - guess what - it's pretty much what I said: use superior mobility to flank, hit the softer sides of the enemy tanks, run away to reload, rinse and repeat.
Well, I guess I can spare some cash to buy this thing, then there's all the time to learn how to properly play it.
