My thoughts on this post

waste of money - anyone with a job can pay for wow without even a second thought
Losing life - i raid 4 days a week and i still have a great social life not to mention i have a Girlfriend
Shitloads of Gig updates - you know you can delete the update downloads after wow is done patching
Getting fat - i have not gained more than a couple pounds my entire time playing this game
Losing friends - i dont know about you but i have gained friends from playing
Talking like a fucking nerd - yes i do but only when talking about games not the rest of my life

I'm usualy more of a lurker, but i feel like giving my opinion every once in a while. It's quite the heated discussion I admit, lets hope I dont become the new target.

alright, let's start:

Cost: I say it plain and simply, wow is more expensive than most games usualy. Why? because you buy a full game, including addons, and have to pay in order to actually play. And you have to do so each month. Since most games are one time expensenses, WoW has to be counted as a money eater. That does not however mean, its unaffordable. Wether its worth the price is for each to decide on his own.

Time consumption: It's realy up to you how much time you invest, but its a fact that you have to invest a good deal of time if you actually intend to go on raids. But even raiders can get offline and avoid getting fat, socialize and meet friends. It's rathers tupid to consider every raider as someone who spends 80% of their free time in WoW. They exist, but not all WoW players are like that.

Gameplay: Wow actually offers something for the monthly fee's, they continuesly let the game evolve and spend a lot of time patching/balancing etc. If the game were bad it surely wouldnt be that popular. No wonder some became addicted.

I myself never became addicted, I actually often got talked back into it by friends. I considered it fun, but after a while I lost intrest, I usualy play games for entertainment or story, not for acquiring the best possible gear and brag to people about it. That probably why it never stuck onto me.

I think it'd be worth mentioning the social aspects of WoW in particular. From the forums to the large server populations, it's a very unique environment.

time consuming? yeah right i spend 1~3 hours everyday for 2~4 weeks to get to 85, spend 1~3 hours a day to gear up for 1 week (full 346 blues and mixed purple rep items), boom raid ready and then spend 3 hours 3 days a week to raid, and boom i just finished consuming the entire raid content in 3 months (full purple for both spec with mixed heroic purple) since i first made my char at level 1 with only 1~3 hours time to play a day and that's not counting the day i'm too lazy to play or off raid day, i see it's time consuming and makes you lose your life

people who complain WoW takes time and makes you lose your life is just a complete
either
1. L2play
2. L2manage time
3. L2 socialize
4. Stop eating fastfood
5. Don't eat while playing

or just don't play, if it's bad for you just cancel the sub and go play hello kitty online or some dance dance. It's healthy

Again, just ignore 'em. I've already talked to Jacob about this and those two are out on thin ice, and if they don't want to get banned they better start realize rather quickly how to behave outside of the IB-section.
