I'm not sure where to post this and i'd really want to share this. Guess i'll post something in the chat forums...

Anyway..
Im making this thread to see if there is any intrest of playing yugioh with people here. I am using Dueling network and YGO/DEV-pro.
I am a some what experienced player and was hoping to gather some people. Maybe do tourments or something fun.

Yeah, i was thinking we could make a bracket here and then people would play a match. Then tell me how it went and then I write it down.

Just for fun and that way people get to talk to new ones as well :)

I stopped playing years ago so I'm slightly covered in rust, but I would love to play with people who actually have brains and want to duel seriously.

I use Dueling Network, my time zone is GMT +1, if any of you want to duel or set up tourneys, I'm more than happy to join.

About the metagame, while I'm extremely ignorant about the CURRENT one, I do know that I miss the old times. I did play a few "high tier" decks (Tele-DAD, Lightsworn, Gladiator Beasts, etc.), yet the funniest ones I had were two above others: a Counter Gravekeeper which ran triple Van'Dalgyon among other things and a bizarre Earth/Dark deck which ran on Monarchs (Caius and Granmarg) and Vanity's Fiend, Royal Oppression and, as a surprise for everyone, Evil Hero Dark Gaia (the day I brought it to a tourney, people didn't even know what Koa'ki Meiru Guardian was).

So yeah, I enjoyed anti-meta decks a lot, because they were cheaper (well, so long as you had your set of Solemn Judgment and Dark Bribe, among other things) and you could troll the opponent who, most of the time, didn't even know what a first turn Royal Tribute meant. :P

With Konami limiting-banning almost everything related to that kind of deck, the one I like the most as of now is Noble Knight - RotA at 1 hurts it, but the stupid survivability of the Noble Arms is just ridiculous (and yes, there's still people who waste MST on them while Noble Knights are on the field). If it was a cheap deck I would gladly start playing again, but alas, it seems that every single new deck of today needs a ton of costly cards.

Well, there's Dueling Network, it's for free, so I'm not complaining.

I agree that the old meta was a better one. From my exparienced it's two kinds of deck atm that are acually playable in compeditive. Either anti-meta, lockdown, Or Otk decks or at least extreamly quick decks.

With the last Bannlist Konamis intention was to remove Dragon Rulers and very consistant OTK decks.

I run crystal beasts

What I like to do is when the battle is at vastly my advantage, I prolong the battle so the opponent rages so bad. It helps that things like ruby carbuncle and crystal blessing&promise help me out with that.

But I'm sure I'm going to be shattered against decks of now since the only thing that's somewhat new is Number 39: Utopia.

As a real life deck, I have lots of 4funs (Gem Beast among them, though I'm missing a Rare Value) and Blackwings, plus a ton of remnants from now-defunct decks that don't work anymore.

I would love to try Harpies, but can't afford Big Eye and Dracossack, stupid cards just cost so much. Gaia Dragon could be a placeholder, but nowhere near as effective.

So anyway, if anyone wants to duel, we might talk about it on Skype, just ask for the contact.

Rainbow Dragon is useless, Gem Beasts win via Crystal Abundance and/or Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder.

Also Sapphire Pegasus is mandatory in that deck, it's like the most important Gem Beast of the lot along with Topaz Tiger.

Iunno, it gives me a powerhouse I could use in the event of Shooting star/Stardust that blocks my crystal Raigeki and Gravi-Crush/Magna-Slash to the ends of time.

Shooting quasar however… eugh.

I only play : dragon queen of tragic endings. Not rainbow or hamon at all..
Then set up for a otk with abundence.
You can get pegasus in common from ra yellow mega pack so ita not hard to get nowadays.

Abundance is really more of a last-resort trump card for me lel

So I take it I'm the only one who uses the Gravi-Magna brothers?

I don't get it, why would you leave your main win condition as a last resort? Rainbow Dragon might be cool and all, but it's a 4k vanilla nowadays, plus it's far quicker to set up for Abundance than wait and wait and wait to drop Rainbow Dragon, only to get it blown off the field by anything.

Anyway, I kinda want to test Sylvan a bit, I was even hoping of building the deck, but LOLNO Marshalleaf cost like 25$ each, for unknown reasons. <_<

That, and I still lack a ton of Xyz Monsters.
