Oohh, pet 3! I'm so happy to see the next chapter, especially after the cliffhanger we got the last time.
"Don't tell me she's going to blackmail me!" and then she proceeds to...do the exact opposite? Ask to be his pet too, basically.
And when they started a...heh, catfight in front of him, he just up and grabbed both of them and reminded them who is in charge.
That ending though. I must say, although she may sound a bit selfish at least she seems to want to make up, and she was just too awkward to really come out and tell him that. The pet kouhai on the other hand is the very image of love and devotion, only caring for the happiness of her beloved Senpai.
Hm, well the obvious answer would be to just have them both, but he seems to be onto something when he asked how she knows about their stormy relationship. I still think the memory he had of a kitten who was abandoned in the previous chapter has something to do with it, and I can't wait to find out in the next chapter.
Think what Yuno said is true though. Hoshino was more concerned about being embarrassed to be with him than actually being with him. Should have ignored the naysayer's jeers, both back in the past and in the present.
This is basically a tsundere romance with a realistic protagonist. He thinks she's a bitch from the way she acts and has huge confidence issues because of how she's always treated him. And of course, he'd go with the girl that's been at his beck in call over the one who's treated him like shit and publicly humiliated him since middle school.
Worthy sequel. Love the triangle. Who is Yuno. We shall see.. Hoshino a bitch? That is if Hoshino is not happy then they our two can not be happy? Ooo..the catfight may continue...
I almost feel bad for Mr. Protag. He’s torn between 2 individuals who are pining for him, one who he initially wanted to be with but out of embarrassment she rejected him and essentially missed her own shot to be honest with herself, and the other who is obviously devoted but for whatever reason only wants to be his “pet” and now it seems like she’s hiding something. Yuno isn’t wrong about what she said about Hoshino but what’s with the apprehension towards being more than just fuck buddies? Oh what a tangled web for Saeki. Can’t imagine what discomfort this would cause for somebody’s psyche if fiction were to be reality. Tends to be the main reason I watch harem shows for fun but unfortunately I don’t find the male leads to be realistic unless the show either presents a scenario where (no matter how ridiculous) it could be believable or the protagonist actually seems to a bit bothered by his predicament, I.E actually gives a damn about ladies he cares for. Sorry to get a bit philosophical about some bs but I dunno, guess I just wanted to blurb a little.
Hoshino is kind of a bitch, in multiple ways. She was clearly popular on some level, and being in that position, was embarrassed by the prospect of being together with the protag in front of others, both in the past and now. She says if no one showed up they would be dating, but I doubt it. Maybe for a few days before her embarrassment got the better of her and she spouted something like "well I was just doing him a favor!!" If the protag had any dignity at that point he would have noped away from her as quick as possible.
I freaking love everything about this series: the unexpected premise, the developing love triangle, the mystery, the intrigue, and the catgirls! ALL OF THE CATGIRLS!!! (granted there are only two BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS!!!)
