Thinking this over, I think the characters’ feelings are pretty unclear. Given the title, and the dialogue throughout this manga, I’m inclined to believe that the both of them struggle with socializing and perhaps they came together on that commonality. They don’t really understand love and companionship, so when faced with the opportunity to have a real relationship, they’re both at a loss. The girl thinks it’s impossible for them, and the boy doesn’t even know how to respond. They might have feelings for one another, but they don’t even know how to face that reality if it is true.

I disagree. I think her feelings, at least, are quite clear. She is very beautiful and as such get put on a pedestal, constantly leered at by most boys. Even her boyfriend only wanted her for her looks.. She visits the MC on a whim, but he doesn't make a move. This continues until his unintentional negging makes her develop feelings. It isn't quite negging as he doesn't say negative things, but ignoring the hot girl watching porn in your room is close enough. To her, especially at the end, their only connection is porn and sex. He even says that they don't talk outside of speaking about porn. She wants more from him and tells him in an obviously roundabout way.
I think he also wants more from her, but thinks himself unworthy. He thinks several times that if she keeps acting this way, I'll get the wrong impression that she likes me. That would remove her from the pedestal and place her on his level, an obtainable girl.

I guess in reality she came over to see if he would make a move, but he never really did and basically just let her do what she wanted which made her interested in him, which eventually turned into affection? Interesting.
That ending though. I don't know why, but her comment kind of cut deep, so to speak. Like, she said yes, but probably not for the reason he was expecting. Well my friend, after hearing something like that, surely the natural thing would be to comfort her or gold her or...Well, tell her that she's mistaken?

Didn't realize the depth until <a href="/users/623">@623</a> pointed it out. Nanigawa Rui is very talented in creating stories that take on the full complexity of human emotions. Nei, The Special Treatment series, Afterglow and Morning Rose, all are incredible works.

Sure, that might be the natural thing, but the MC is an anti-social jerk. Which is why senpai used him for sex. Because she liked his more considerate side, but she knew that a relationship with him would never be the type of lovey relationship she wanted because of his personality. So she might as well get some sex with him.
