The Huntress could not have shot herself or her friend with-
out being ordered to do so by the Scumbag MC---and such
a murderous command would require direct, prolonged eye
contact. We must assume (for now) that she shot him in the
back (as the motherfucker deserves).

We now know for sure that his hypnotic power emanates from
his eyes (page 1, panel 2). He can influence anyone by simply
looking at them. No direct eye contact is necessary, except as
an "intensifier."

Given that, I think there's a mistranslation on page 1, panel 3.
It should read: "There's no telling what will happen if he so
much as perceives us, correct?" That makes more sense.
