DIVE!!

How is this an actual critique or worse, a complaint? Isn't there room in the excessively stylized world of Hentai Anime and Manga an understanding that not just any sword will slay the dragon? Every element of women's appearances is manipulated and distorted in these stories to satisfy fantasy appetites, why would any exaggeration of the males be in any way out of place or even noteworthy? The funny but true observation I've made is that when ESUKE renders a penis it isn't an afterthought, it's done with such detail and care that they are practically a main character! I think that attention to detail works to make the audience believe the inevitable moment when the female character is sexually and sensually overwhelmed. It would be hilariously ironic if somehow this element of ESUKE's work made certain males in the audience feel insecure or inadequate about themselves. This is a heavily documented phenomenon experienced by women in relation to this and other types of media, guess you'll just be slipping that metaphorical shoe on your metaphorical other foot and walking around in it awhile since this type of work has been defending itself since forever and is still here. I have had contextual questions to raise about ESUKE's narrative choices in the past but he is an unequivocal visual craftsman, one of the best (if not THE BEST)sequential artists featured by FAKKU! and in this story I was happy to see my personal double standards exposed. Here we have younger male taken by slightly older, more assertive and sexually frustrated female. Her desires get to trump everything else in this story, what she needs gets to be the validation for how SHE takes it from him. Very refreshing shake up of the status quo, it isn't world-ending or even hard to read when the girls win...

You know, unlike the storyline in DROPPING BY, I think there is legitimacy in Kanede never rising above the level of fuckboy. As written, Kanede is just an upgrade in toys for our delicious "tomboy". His mid-coitus confession of love may have sweetened her climax but he was only a tool to get where she needed to go, so allow her to swim off unencumbered into her own sunset without him. This could be the prequel setting up him meeting her later in life but it doesn't have to, one-and-dones happen in the real world...
