Technically vanilla would be (normal) sex between only one male and only one female which is the case in this story (disregarding the tail). But I had the same thought as you as she was cheating on her boyfriend (and thus involved a third party in their intercourse) and did it out if pure lust and not love (which I would say would have compensated the cheating tag). I've read stories on fakku which were far sweeter and didn't have a vanilla tag and taking into regards that the vanilla tag is used on fakku mostly for love sex stories, I think you are right and the vanilla tag is misplaced.
