So the girl Futaba at the end of the first chapter is already fully grown in the wolf den, and Nina is already totally broken in the span of a single dicking? She really caved in on those desires with typical hentai abandon. I dunno, I didn't really want the story to go as dark as the prequel was necessarily leading on, but I also didn't really want it to go down this more generic track. Given how short this sequel is, I'm guessing the author already got bored with it/didn't want to continue or got talked out of their original plans. I'm still hoping for a sequel that drives the story in a better place for these girls, but I'm probably shouting into the wind.

I am not as disappointed as others in this sequel. Sure it could have gone into the deep dark recesses to pull out horrors we could barely imagine, but it looks like the author or editor listened to feedback and pulled away from that and went with a simple mind break story. You don't get a multi book deal by ignoring what the fans want and not many seemed enthusiastic about where this story was heading. Hopefully the artist will cry over their artistic integrity all the way to the bank.

I'm sure Yamaimo Tororo originally planned to make a MUCH darker sequel,
but (as you and 623 suggest) there was simply too much negative feedback
from "Puppy's Rondo."Â Still, I'd like to find out exactly what he had in mind.

For the record, I didn't suggest negative feedback, I said maybe Nina was popular since her position as heroine easily could have been replaced. I know the Fakku readers reacted negatively, but Yamaimo Tororo doesn't necessarily read these comments and we don't know how the japanese fans reacted--especially since I would argue japanese fans are more receptive than western ones.

Damn it, I saw the monster girl tag and got a little excited...Then I noticed the title and realised this is a sequel to that first one.
I...Kind of feel we didn't need to see what happened next, I'd say the first one already did its job on the 'despair' front, but well, here we are, I guess. This is what happens afterwards.
Endless indeed, an endless despair that comes back just when you thought you were done with it.

I gotta start paying more attention to a title's collection before reading, which obviously I didn't do. This one could have been a hellava lot worse but the next time, I might not have that luck.

The preceding chapter ("Puppy's Rondo") was quite disturbing, with sinister hints of worse
things to come, yet this chapter doesn't follow up on any of those hints. That, plus the fact
that it's only 12 pages long, makes it feel like a throwaway sequel.
Emotionally, I'm relieved, because I expected the story to take a deep dive into guro
territory--which would've been almost unbearable. Yet, objectively and aesthetically,
I'm rather disappointed, because I prefer to see a writer take an interesting idea and
expand on it, until his story comes to a logical, fully-developed conclusion, no matter
how dark it may be.
In short, I have very mixed feelings about "Endless Rondo."

I started to read this piece not remembering about the previous chapter until I got to a couple pages in. I was like, "Oh no, I remember this story..." but I realized it might not be as bad as I thought when I saw he kept the other girls alive. After Part 1, I thought we'd see their heads mounted on a mantle display somewhere.

I almost feel like there was reader or editor feedback that brought the story down this path. Like the readers really liked Nina and wanted to see her story continue considering the ending of the first chapter easily could have ditched her as a heroine. I personally would have liked to have seen more of Reijou and how this job affects/affected his psyche considering he has to act as a father figure to these puppy girls and then send them off to be sex slaves. He must be numb after 27 times but there has to be psychological effects.

I got that feeling too. Part 1 was tumbling frantically to the sadistic horror territory but unexpectedly, this chapter ended up very tame (to put it mildly).

I think you're right. Based on the way Fakku fans reacted to "Puppy's Rondo,"
I suspect reader feedback turned into a highly-emotional backlash, and that,
in response, Yamaimo Tororo or his editors decided to abruptly abandon the
nightmare course on which the story was clearly headed.
In any case, you and I both agree that the sequel could've been (and should
have been) a lot more interesting.

(and dreaded), that's for sure.
I admit that I indulged in the darkest possible
speculation, but everyone else was expecting
some kind of nasty sequel, too---and for good
reason.
