I think the motivation behind having the "hypnosis" tag has to do with the bypassing of consent these stories (if logic is involved) illustrate and fetishize. It has some puerile novelty as long as you don't ask any questions (and who comes saddled with questions of morality when appreciating Hentai!) With the reality of people being drugged into near catatonic submission being so prevalent as a technique in sexual assaults, "hypnosis" shares too many similarities to ignore. The tag allows the buyer to beware, regardless of how skillfully (or clumsily!) the author executes the story.

It was refreshing. The scumbags do have a big cheering section, however. I almost can see why they are written to get away with stuff unimpeded.
