Junk Idol

Seems pretty straight forward. He is a scumbag that raped a drunk girl, then forced himself on her again when she returned to get her lost property. He has a "heart of gold" and is seeking a longer term relationship. She was so obsessed with pleasing her fans that now she wants to please her man.

I wonder how much is being lost in translation...? The sequences seem very choppy and the dialogue doesn't match in places. On the one hand it seems like rape, like he gets this naive girl drunk and fucks her but the staging is so abrupt a page or some panels seem like they are missing. If that isn't enough the way she is written, showing her lowered self-esteem, sense of failure and overall vulnerability because she's so naive, these things frame her as a target more than an awakening partner. This was a struggle to read and at the end I just felt like I needed a shower...

I'm not sure about that, she seems like just a sex friend to him, and their relationship doesn't really seem very healthy. She just went along with everything because she feels depressed and useless, while pleasing him made her feel wanted. She even says "I love you" but he doesn't reciprocate. I think he's friendly to her because she puts out, so there's no real reason for him to be a dick, but her past as an idol is pretty obviously a turn-on to him so I'm not sure how much he's really into her as a person rather than as a hot chick who is an ex-idol.
