It's funny – personally, I like intense stories, but if I get too invested in the heroine winning and/or the situation feels Too Real, it can sort of sour it for me sometimes. So when we started out with her standing up against toxic workplace expectations and then managers plotting to make her life hell, it was definitely hitting that "no, I don't want this to happen to her, I want her to win" headspace. But yeah – between how early they had her enjoying it, how hot the art and story were in general, and maybe even how quickly they shut down the possibility of her turning the tables so it wasn't still present as something to root for, I ended up coming out the other side of that feeling and falling with her lol. The bit about the door only opening for other people's keycards is maybe what fully clicked it for me – "oh, she's totally screwed, and also that's hot..."
