This could be the prequel of a pretty good sequel. That's not the point. NTR can be felt even on stories in which the guy was too afraid of confess to a girl and she started dating someone else. The point is the feeling of losing, not the society view. Is about 'you' the protagonist, the one on the POV to feel cheated upon in some manner.
