Probably the best hentai one could read.
So, this story is like if you took the typical gullible and naive Shoujo Heroine with low self esteem that is in the vast majority of Shoujo manga but made it so she was lonely and had no friends all through middle school and gave her the worst luck imaginable in almost every part of her life, like absolute one in a billion levels of bad luck causing almost every bad event that happens to her. One of the more subtle things I picked up on is that she had inept parents who obviously never taught her even some of the most basic things like being skeptical of strangers, the truly awful consequences of drug use, not giving into peer pressure, the importance of identifying toxic relationships, etc. Due to Saki’s absolutely horrendous luck, she is pretty much surrounded by bad influences and toxic predators throughout the story, and she is the perfect prey for them since she is the typical Shoujo Protagonist, which is arguably one of the easiest archetypes to trick and take advantage of. Anyway, Saki deserved better!

Good story but not for the weak of stomachs
Heard alot about this manga from memes, controversy's and people just mentioning it. So I thought this is my chance to give it a go and see what I think about it. OH BOY I WASNT READY. I thought this would ease into each situation but no, its a slippery slope of messed up. However, it was interesting to this side of life portrayed and the artist and writer do an amazing job portraying the emotions of the characters and situations they are in. Story ending I was really happy for. But in real life ending involving me, I actually felt unwell ill be honest there which is a first.
If you want something unique and different to read I suggest give this a go!

A commentary that's uncomfortably close to real life
One of the most emotionally scarring fiction stories I've read in my life, this coming from someone who enjoyed Uziga Waita when I was fighting depression.
I wonder if ShindoL watched "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" and thought "hmm, very good, but I think I can do better than that", set to work, and the rest is history.

I will never be the same.
It's beautiful, it's fucked up, it's real and it's heartbreaking. I don't think I'll ever EVER be the same. This book left scars and I still get flashbacks. As a women it was both weirdly hot at times and extremely triggering. The art is insanely beautiful and I couldn't put the book down. It's been so long since a book has made me feel all these emotions and I honestly love it.

The world is a cruel mistress
So I’m new to all this hentai manga stuff, I usually just stick to my shonen and seinen but I’ve started to venture out to try different forms of manga. I started with Metamorphosis as one of my first due to the infamous status it has in the manga community and I was not let down. Throughout this whole read I kept shrinking at the situations Saki would always seem to end up in due to terrible decisions, awful influences, and horrible human beings but I kept reading out of just pure intrigue. Confusingly I found some of the art at times to be rather attractive, but was then quickly slapped in the face by the reality of how disgusting the situations our main character was truly in. Surprisingly throughout all the pain, suffering, and misfortune Saki went through during this story the last cruelty that was done to her was to me the most vile act yet, it really showed how low mankind can get. Once again I am new to the world of hentai manga so I don’t have much experience with it yet, but I can tell great storytelling when I see it. I can only give this series a 5 star rating but if I could I would give it 10 stars cause it truly is a great read. Thank you ShindoL for creating this work and I look forward to your future releases.

Yes, the story is tragic and depressing but really well told. So much so that you will actually keep reading it for the story. Also, the art is amazing and you will instantly become a fan of Shindo L (if you weren't already).

Sad but Compelling
This book can be a cautionary tale of sorts; where you & people around you can lead down paths where maybe at first could have been changed or corrected a life salvaged, but eventually just spirals out of control until a sad end. A beautiful & stunning piece from start to finish.

A piece of smut history
Even though I've read it multiple times I wanted to own a physical copy purely based on what it represents. Triggering emotions beyond the carnal it's a tragic story given beautiful visual representation. The quality of the book itself is top tier as has been the case with all my Fakku book purchases.

Not Your Average Hentai
The story was really good; however, due to it's dark nature, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who just wants to jack off to hentai. I think the main point that ShindoL was trying to tell the readers is that the experiences that Saki were going through are something that can happen to anyone, especially in the ending. All in all, this was a great book.

Masterpiece
I read this hentai a few years ago for the first time, I rearly read hentai at all but when I read anything I need a plot. This hentai is brilliant to read because it doesn't shy away from the hard truths and the sad ending while difficult to get through only makes it more of a great read.
I brought this hentai paperback it will be my first hentai that I have brought as a physical edition to my collection of books, manga and graphic novels. I really don't regret it because even without the sex it's still a masterpiece to read.

Bitter sweet like really good dark chocolate.
Shindol is a great artist and story teller while sometimes there are happy endings in such tales the end was bitter yet sweet. The artwork is done masterfully and the scenes are worthy to strangle the cyclops till it froth's at the mouth. I wish we had some more of Shindol's books. If you wish to see a fall from grace then Emergence is truly worth the buy. Now if only Type-90's One Moe was translated my balls would be drained completely.

You know why you're here, and why you're gonna make the purchase. It really is a Meamorphosis, you watch the journey, the train wreck. It's hard and realistic, could be your neighbor or a friend down the street. It's a book that everyone should own.

One of Two Pieces of Media That Truly Affected Me
The other being Requiem for a Dream, this legitimate work of art is beautiful and disturbing. Some may think it unrealistic, but it unfortunately is not. That being said, it is still fiction which makes the common sort of “suspension of morality” that most intense porn imbibers apply here, myself included. This still manages to dig into your head and leave you with this profound discomfort and legitimate despair.
Despite the mixed tone of this short review, this is one of the few pieces of media I feel confident in rating 10/10. Just… steel yourself for what may be an artistically traumatizing experience.

A roller-coaster
Everyone have heard of Metamorphosis at some point, and if you haven't be sure to buckle up before this read. Metamorphosis is a fantastic journey of sadness and morose that always keeps you at edge. With deep meaning beautiful art and characters you build relationships with. Albeit it not always be good ones. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a deeper dive into books like this.

A Hentai of Tragedy
From an art perspective each page immerses you in the story of Saki. I originally came here for the same reason many do, the first page- however, I ended up finishing it all in one sitting. The story is tragic and captivating- some chapters may get you excited while others make you want to look away. But the flow and development mix well and this is a great book to go through for the story alone.
tl;dr - You may find some strange fantasies you enjoy here, but don't go in expecting a fun ride. You'll leave this book with some complex emotions jumping around in your head.

A thought-provoking experience
Metamorphosis is a gritty, dirty and sometimes disturbing hentai. I was disgusted by some of the scenes and with myself for reading it at some points. That being said, I couldn’t put it down either. Saki-chan’s downward spiral truly made me feel as sorry for her as I have for any real person. It explores some of society’s most uncomfortable and taboo subjects, in prostitution, sexual abuse and drug addiction to name a few. Having known people with these problems and experienced some myself, I can say that ShindoL doesn’t hold back. I originally purchased it for the shock value after having seen it featured in several YouTube videos but ended up finding a deep, thought-provoking story that had me crying, something I haven’t done in a very long time. I now believe this is a modern masterpiece and can’t recommend it highly enough. Easily 5 stars and well worth the purchase price!

Great!
I see this around everywhere so I finally decided to give it a read and buy the physical copy. The story line is good and depressing. I really enjoyed the read. I kind of wish there was more character development at the beginning so we could see how she use to be but it’s a hentai so I mean storyline isn’t the main point. Overall I loved it. One of the best depressing hentai’ out there.

Matches the hype
I kept seeing this story mentioned in memes and on Fakku's twitter account. It picqued my interest, so when it went on sale a little while ago, I decided why the hell not. Wow, this is the kind of storytelling I love in hentai books! Metamorphosis features a captivating story that really makes you feel for the main character. I got my wife to read it too and she feels the same. So glad I bought this and highly recommend it as a must-read. Gorgeous art too.

First and foremost, I see this piece as the bst form art. I never thought that i came here for a h-doujin and stayed for a crazy and fascinating story that made me feel addicted, sad, hyped and wanting to protect someone I just read about.

Hard, sad stuff
So this book is the story of an unpopular girl who decides when she goes to high school she wants to change all that. So she gets herself made over and discovers that she actually can make friends with people. Unfortunately for her, it also draws the attention of a sleazy guy and being unfamiliar with this sort of attention she's easy pickings for him to get her into drugs and sex.
What follows from this is six more chapters of her downward spiral into drug addiction, prostitution, and generally ruining her entire life. It is not a "nice" story, and the fleeting moments of happiness in it are fleeting illusions created by the drugs and the sex.
Now all that negativity isn't meant to say "don't read this", because it's a very well put together story and it even has a real cautionary tale running through it. But this kind of thing isn't for everyone. Even if you're familiar with ShindoL's work and the rather extreme places their stories go to, it can be a bit much as seven chapters really lets you build up an attachment to a character that you don't get from a one-shot.
All this adds up to a fairly unique work, at least in terms of the kind of books you can buy on FAKKU. A couple of the chapters did appear in X-Eros releases that FAKKU has published, but for whatever reason they're not available under subscription, you'll have to buy the book. You really should anyway if you want to read them, as just reading the last couple chapters without all the buildup isn't going to land the impact of the story properly.

Metamorphosis is well known for it's extremely dark themes, including coercion. drugging, corruption, pregnancy, forced prostitution..and features an extremely sad ending.
ShindoL's loose raw art style in combination with his ability to dig into the psychology of what makes things Fucked Up is what makes all his comics so profound. It's just just about images to jerk off to, he has powerful narratives to back them up.

Rich Story With Lots of Lewdness!
While this story is certainly not for everyone, it's great to experience hentai with, well.... an actual plot. I'd honestly gotten tired of the soulless feel of other, less story-driven hentais. However, it's a fair warning to say there's some pretty touchy subjects in here. If incest, drug abuse, rape, and prostitution bother you, it may be best to steer clear from this one.

You see someone who doesn’t have it easy and a main character with no special super natural or super human skill, and you see them struggle and try to find themselves and you see that here. Also the hardcore fucking scenes are awesome as hell too!!

What more can I say that hasn't been said already? It's not for everyone, and it's not going to leave you feeling warm and sunny at the end of it, but it's such a unique and well-done experience and a fantastic examination of one character's utter and complete spiralling descent down into the gutters of society.
Plus it's lewd. Really really lewd. And ShindoL's art is bangin' as always.
