Putting your photos on a CD-Rom doesn't stop someone from spreading them online. But if you were selling them through something like eBay I could understand. 30 CDs cost less than 1 USB. And they are probably cheaper to ship. Not a bad cost to profit ratio. Especially with a decent lawyer getting DCMA strike happy.
