The level of quality and detail Key put out with this is impeccable to say the least, both in story and especially the art itself. This is vanilla at its finest.

The amount of detail just from the first page alone. Holy hell it feels like I'm looking at a widescreen shot of a film condensed into a single manga page and it continues to do so throughout the chapter. Key fucking killed it with this chapter, content included. Holy shit

They very clearly had a kid or a younger little sibling growing up. Kanna is a spitting image of my kid sister when we were growing up. Every mannerism she had was so nostalgic to see, it made me really miss the days half a lifetime ago when I was still a teenager with a sibling 9 years younger, glued to me at every possible moment to a level of abject annoyance. The vanilla romance was great, but I swear Kanna stole the show here for me bringing back all those old memories.

I have to wonder if the random snippet of conversation on the first page, “An abandoned tunnel?” is a reference to I Ain’t Scared!, a collab between Key and Ishikawa Shisuke.
