I felt like the artist tried for something, but in the end the execution was off the mark. The fake pregnancy was the final icing on a cake that is half baked with little flavor to it. Nothing from the previous chapters had any impact on the story and in the end the sci-fi element felt rushed.

I know it's hentai, but even still I just couldn't get into the presentation because of the inconsistencies of each act, which is too bad because I do enjoy Chiba Toshirou's other works. This one just didn't click with me.

I disagree about it having "little flavor." In a genre bloated with slice of life one-shots and harem-collecting multi-chapter works, trying to blend a sci-fi story with the regular world is pretty different. Would the story have been better off just sticking to only sci-fi or only manga club? Probably. But I still commend Chiba Toshirou for doing this story for an entire year and releasing a chapter every month (a one-month break once).
