A ripped release sometimes to save unnecessary space doesn't include some stuff that the original games include. However, the graphics quality for example doesn't need to be affected by this since what was taken from the game was something "unnecessary", in other words, it's not needed for the game to run properly.

Now speaking of VNs, there's hardly a ripped version like what I just mentioned.

Like mechgouki said, he usually likes to have the original files so that he can install the game as it originally was designed and after that probably use the crack. However, he saves the original installation files.

Basically, you'll hardly see worse CG quality in VNs on releases that don't include installation files so there's no need to worry about it. The current releases or have the installation files with (or without) a crack or the installed files with a crack. There's no loss of quality in these type of releses.
