I still didn't read Katawa Shoujo but according to other users and the ratings on VNDB one example of a VN that is better than Katawa Shoujo is Clannad. There are working links for it. There are also other VNs better than Katawa Shoujo. As I pointed before, check the ratings on VNDB.
Due to the recent issue with megaupload a LOT of VNs are with dead links. Better search for torrents
